Google crawler and Sitemap different?

Well I've changed a lot of meta tags, tweaked my website HEAPS since it got crawled on the 7th however the meta tags indexed are the old version, even though webmaster tools in google says the site map was downloaded 22 hours ago?

Doesnt that mean that google used my sitemap to crawl my page 22 hours ago?

Also for some reason, only a few of my pages are indexed even though my page is very well interlinked.

any ideas?

No it simply means that Google downloaded the sitemap 22 hours ago, that does not necessarily mean they have used it in any way.

There is a supposed sandbox effect in Google which stop pages showing for a certain time period. A main way to help get your site indexed is to achieve more incoming links. The more good high quality incoming links you have the better Google will think of your site.

If you do a search for your site you may see a cache link for it. There will be a date for this cache link, the cached page is the version of the page they are using for the results.

Exactly. Get more good quality links for your site and prove that your site is worth it and there will be no need to think about other issues in future too.
