Yet again no Google doodle for Memorial day. One has to wonder why they can not honor the fallen.

Also I see nothing about memorial day here at Namepros either....

Shame.... :|

What's a shame?
That google didn't do anything?

Or that nothing here at Namepros?
Well you are in the states right? Feel free to start a thread
instead of waiting for someone else too!

Memorial Day is on different days in different countries throughout the world,
USA is today, while Canada it is in July. China it is in Feb

and then there is Rememberance day in Canada on Nov 11.

They do have a flag and a yellow ribbon on the page. Maybe they thought a doodle blending a somber memorial day theme with their logo would be in poor taste?

Right .... and the fallen from any country deserve to be honored .... on what ever day designated.

NPs simply does not reflect patriotism :td: and doe not see the need to honor our fallen service
men/women from any country on any day.

Sorry you feel that way. I was choosing to honor my DAD who was a Veteran rather than decorate my website. Don't forget your moment of silence followed by playing of Taps at 3:00 pm today.

The best way to honor those who have given their lives to protect our freedom is to make sure that all the killings, torture, and injustice that has taken over the globe comes to an end once and for all.

As I see all those families grieving over their loved ones who have been killed during the past wars and as I see all those young and otherwise once perfectly healthy men and women who are now agonizing with disabilities and brain trauma it makes me wonder how much longer we as the human race are going to allow all this to go on and how many more wars await us in the future because we are not willing or able to change our ways.

When I look around all I see is hatred and distrust amongst different people in different parts of the World. I have been wondering why it is that all these people hate each other so much and what makes them think that they are entitled to destroy everyone else who might be different from them. I have come to the conclusion that normal people around the World can get along with each other fine, its mainly the fanatics and extremists that are causing all the hatred and the killings, but we are somewhat brainwashed as to whom we think a fanatic or extremist is since each side does their best to portray their enemy as fanatics and extremists in order to justify killing them.

In reality we are all fanatics and extremists to one extent or the other. Whether our fanaticism and extremism is based on religion, politics, race, or just plain hunger for money and power we all have a habit of putting those interests above basic principles such as Universal Human Rights or true Democracy.

There is a simple solution to ending all this killings around the World, one that is so simple that probably is going to sound idealistic, but in a way it might be the only way out of the current mess we are in:

Lets pass a bill at the United Nations requiring all governments to have to abide by and respect the Universal Human Rights and the principals of true Democracy, as of this day any Country that doesnโ€™t want to commit to this should be kicked out of the United Nations and be subjected to sanctions and ultimately regime change. Off course we might have to use force to enforce this bill at the beginning, but at least we know that it will be the last time that there is going to be any killings.

My apologies Rachel,

It's not all my place to speak for NPs and in no way was it my intent to disrespect your devotion to your Father and his honorable service to our country. In fact I hope you will take the liberty of thanking him for me and my family. We are happy proud Americans with all the freedoms he helped secure for all of us.

And please accept my apology for my careless words. I am sorry :red:

Honoring should be kept in hearts, not in banners or similar stuff. What had happened to the fallen if there are no memorial tablets upon the sites?

Actually I no longer have the option to thank him in person, as he has passed away due to Brain Cancer. However I do love and appreciate him every chance I get in my heart and I will send an extra message to him on your behalf NN. Thank you
