I have heard alot of slamming on the .US extension Lately. Looks like the .US haters may be wrong? Check out this quote from dnjournal:

there was also the purchase of more than $100,000 worth of .us food domains by one company and a huge increase in the number of .us pages indexed by Google, which grew from 20 million a year ago to 90 million today. Some new sites are also attracting a huge amount of traffic. ImageShack.us scores over 24,000 with the extension in Overture and FamilyWatchdog.us is over 40,000!

That's good news, since I've got a few good ones.

Nice find!

Plus .us is starting to get picked up by more and more major companies.
Smirnoff, Volvo, Roche, FHM, Hitachi, Sony, Fujitsu, etc, etc, etc.
Last night during the Golden Globes, Volvo kept advertising with VolvoCars.us.
The .us ship will soon be coming in, IMO.

I like so much .us, but I think .us needs no restrictions and a good marketing campaing to become more popular and grow definitly, like .es .

For example:
USA its a very big nation with only 84.600.000 .us sites, you can check it here:
http://www.google.es/search?hl=es&q=site:us&meta=

In comparison with Spain, this nation USA its 19 times more big. Spain has 31.900.000 web sites.
http://www.google.es/search?hl=es&q=site:es&meta=

USA should have 606.100.000 web sites (31.900.000 . 19 = 606.100.000) minimum as the big nation it is. IMHO ;) This would make more valuable .us domain names.

and let's not forget jew.us sold this past week for $29,500. Also, there are a few treats for the dot us namespace coming this year courtesy of the US Department of Commerce and Nuestar, the registry operator.

The same buyer offered me $2000 for internationalfood.us and I refused. I was thinking I could've gotten those $10,000 offers for my domains. Now that buyer wont even reply to my emails anymore. Sucks now that I have internationalfood.us selling here for only $20!

Sucks being a rookie sometimes. Since then Ive made much better sales, but regardless Im $2000 behind :td:

Hope some other newbie gets enlightened! :xf.love:

IMO. if you have good generic keyword .US names with decent to high overture, hang on to them.
In a few years, .us will be second only to .com in the United States.
Again, IMO.

What do you consider "decent to high overture" ? Just curious ...

:) Wondered when you would pop in. Hi.

I have generic .us names with overture of anywhere from 15,000 to over 100,000.
I guess in that range is what I would consider decent to high. But. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
