I am only here since 2 weeks and yet I already have to leave you!

Before I went into domaining, I forgot to think about taxes and such. So I went to my local financial office today and asked about taxes. They told me, that since I am recieving state benefits, before we can go to taxes, I have to ask my work office for permission. And even if they give me permission to pursue domaining, I have to give the state most of my domaining income. I could keep about 100-200€ myself and have to give the rest to the state since I am on state benefits. So to make domaining worthwhile, I would have to generate like 1000€+ profits a month, to not recieve state benefits anymore. And even if, I still have to get a licenese and so on and so on.

So I will have to quit domaining until I found a job and thus do not recieve state benefits anymore! But I will not be gone forever, I will come back when that happens and start domaining again! In 3 years I should have finished college, so in 3 years I should have found a good paid job to not recieve state benefits anymore.

I thank you all for the help I have recieved so far.

And now I am scared that if I get the money from my auction here on NP on my paypal account, I could get into trouble :/

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I think even if you are not buying and selling domains then stick around the forum and stay active in the community and learn, learn, learn...so when u are ready to start buying and selling domains then you would already learned a whole lot...

Also, you could look at accepting payment in bitcoin for ur domains and Namecheap.com accepts bitcoins as payment so you can even pay for ur domain registration in bitcoin with them.

Sorry to hear about your mum. And I wish you nothing but the best with your future plans.
Since I got accepted into College last month, my future looks bright :)

Sounds like your government has you by the balls.

Without the government my situation would be much worse. My mum is too sick to work, so we need state benefits to survive. I am glad I am having state benefits, it just suck that its hard to earn something along with state benefits.

Pick the one domain you own that you enjoy the topic and develop it.

I'd rather work and stay active while giving up most of my earned income and being able to keep enough for leisure than sit back training for work that may or may not come in 6 years when by then I'd know if I found new transferable knowledge, skills, and abilities attained from domaining (sales, marketing, analytics, developing, etc.). Stop using your mind that long and you'll lose it, forever depending on the state.

I'm not sugar coating this, just food for thought.

Good luck in the future though. :alien2:

the best advice I have ever gotten is:

get advice where it's good
and not where it is available

often that means:
a great advice maybe not available for free

Good luck with school and stuff
Maybe you could develop sites for your domains or something in the mean time. if you want something to do

Great decision. I was going to miss our conversations in chat :)

Cant you buy and keep it for sometime before you sell?
Sure. But I would have to renew for the next 6 years then :D

Also, I hope this forum is around the next 6 years lol. Maybe if I earn enough in my job training I can get out of state benefits in 3 years already, but i doubt that.

If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.

I just thought about it and I have to live 6 years even on state benefits since I first have to do training for 3 years before having a job. And you dont earn enough with training to not live on state benefits.

So yeah, cant do domaining until the next 6 years. :( :( :(

I have decided to stick around and learn more about domaining, just not sell any domains :)

my last advice:

you are asking people who have no intention to help you
in regards to the most important question in your life.
are you serious?

are you asking
how you could do it ?

no - your are asking
"if" you can do it.
all those people will tell you, you can't do it.

how can they know?
why should they care?

think twice:
even your question is wrong

You are right, I shouldnt ask IF I can do it, but HOW I can do it.

But, you arent the only one saying the financial office doesnt wants to help me.

Why wouldnt they want to get more taxes? By helping me with domaining, they get more taxes = more money to the state. The financial office should have the best interest in helping me with domaining, since it means more money to them. Same with the Jobcenter, me doing domaining means less money the Jobcenter has to pay me.

And, even IF they only want the worst for me, there is nothing I can do about it. I have said countless times already that they are the only ones I can get advice from, I do not have the money for a lawyer.

But your advice about the "not IF, but HOW" is good, I will keep that in mind.

they don't care if you pay taxes
they care for their own doom only

those are people satisfied with 9/5 jobs

You cant sell.
Then buy.
Buy some good domains, at least one 4L or a few good numerics and. ...
Forget about domaining for next 6 years.

Stay in school. Stick around. And make One BIG Sale your hobby.
If it comes through, Great! Problem Solved. If not, the experience will train you to be a name pro.

That's an idea anyone in this situation should take advantage of.

Keep a couple domains and build something, if and when in the future you think it's in a good position to make good money then you can add revenue streams at your discretion.

If you don't have a domain name that you believe in enough to build upon, trade your names for one that does.

Flipping domain names is not a path to riches, that path is taken by the ones that buy your names and use them.
