Just regged iPlayGolf[dot]info for a minisite.. short, memorable.

Comments, suggestions? Straight minisite or blog? Or combination of both?

I dunno.. I clearly see the space there but then, that's how I posted it.. as I said, I don't see it as an issue in any case. If the shoe were on the other foot and you had posted it like that, I don't think I'd have given the thread title a second thought. But that's me..

Look at the thread title again yourself. Do you really think that many people noticed that one space. I sure didn't. I just saw Golf.info. And even those who noticed that small space between Golf and .info would have probably thought it a typo. Now if you had posted a title that read... Golf .info. People would know something is up and its probably not gold .info. Whatever your intentions were it had the effect of making people think the thread was relating to the domain Golf.info. Good luck.

Edit: Interesting... I put like 10 spaces between Golf and .info but the forum automatically removes all but one... let me try again...

Golf .info

Edit: Cool, I just learned something new about how the forum software works. I wonder if that's a bug or they want it to do that?

jeepers, have i just walked into a clan rally dressed in a boy george costume??? (bh 1991)

If some of you guys cant read the domain because Dave inserted a space and have an issue with such, do yourself a favour, click the start button on your computer, choose shut down and go out and get youself a life...

As far as the domain and site goes, tis ok... But whats the point of going 25% of the way with development. Id say making the mini site (as is) only diminishes value. If an enduser is interested, that interest may get lessened if they lose their vision when they see the site.

Why not park it at my automated site, www.1plus.net... See my www.golf.sc..

I understand what you're saying and I might agree were I planning to sell but in actuality I'm planning on holding onto the domain/site for awhile.. was mainly looking for opinions on development, I guess. I'd originally thought to slap an adsense mini-site on the domain, then decided to go the blog route instead. I'm lately of the opinion that mini-sites are fine but if you can plan to update at least every couple days, a monetized blog is the absolute way to go for a variety of reasons. Not to mention, I have a slew of articles I can grab from my article aites, post them on my blogs and link back.. :D

Dave,

The mini-site you put up looks very nice, I don't see it chasing away an end-user. To me personally, I don't feel that the .info extension "fits" with the rest of the domain. It could mean "info about me -- I play golf", but that's a bit of a stretch.

As-is, I'd say mid $xx. The site looks nice developed but it's the name that's important to potential buyers. :) Good luck with the domain and site.

Regarding the title, I noticed the space and picked up on what Dave did, I probably would have done the same thing.

Conversely, on the Net, an "i" prefix often denotes the word "internet", as in an "internet resource" for information on playing golf (for example).. that's what I intended anyway and the double-entendre was a bonus. Thanks for your comments and support, guys!

"golf info" works. "i play golf info" not so much

lol, sometimes, you have to make what's available work.. to be honest, the extension doesn't bother me in the least.. "play golf" is in front of the extension and I think that's the important thing. My viewpoint has always been, it's what's to the left of the Dot that matters.
