btrader said:what is with the fake title - is this an ebay auction ....
dgridley said:How is it a fake title? It's a Golf .info.. as in Golf related. If I had put Golf.info as the title, then it would have been fake. It clearly says Golf [space] .info.
btrader said:this is really weak. you have been on this site long enough to know better. why not put "Golf related - .info" or better yet - just put the domain name in the title.
I think that this would make NamePros a better place, I just hate the ebay auction look....
dgridley said:Personally, I thought Golf "with a space" and .info was self explanatory and sufficient. If I'd wanted the domain to be Googled in an appraisal section on a forum, I'd have put the actual domain name in the thread title to your specifications..
cache said:actually I clicked to see this thread simply because of the Gulf.info title. Not that I am very angry about it, but just want to let you konw that your title does have its marketing effect.
dgridley said:I'm actually amazed at the hub-bub about the thread title.. when I first posted the thread, I didn't give any thought to the title other than posting it as a Golf <space> .info.. no marketing ruse or deception intended.
I didn't want to post the actual domain name in the thread or thread title as is.
dgridley said:Just regged iPlayGolf[dot]info
greggish said:You know what it is? It's just annoying and a small waste of people's time when folks don't post the exact domain they want feedback or appraisals on. If you're asking for someone to take some time and look at your domain(s) and give you feedback, at least have the courtesy to list the domain in the thread title. You could have listed iplaygolf(dot)info or something that actually would let a person know the domain before having to open the thread. I try to always put the domain(s) that I want appraised in my thread titles, just so I don't waste people's time. I actually think that should be a rule in the appraisals forum. I'm going to try to make it a policy not to ever post in any appraisal threads where people title them something like "Appraise these really cool domains I have". When I saw your thread I did think before I opened it that you wanted an appraisal on Golf.info. It's just an annoying thing. But it's no big deal. You post your threads the way you like and others can choose to click on them or not. Good luck.
dgridley said:You're missing my point.. I didn't put "Golf.info" in the thread title.. I put "Golf <there's a space here> .info".. and that's why I'm amazed people feel it was either 1) rude or 2) intentionally misleading.
