To my surprise, Godaddy has just updated the way their system pushes domain names. You no longer need all of the registrant information for the push. Just an account Number and the email address...

About time.

If this was attributed to Adam and this is all hes been able to accomplish since coming on board, I will be greatly disappointed.

yes i noticed this as well 2 days ago. I think this is better than previous system, since mostly if not all don't want to give their information to sellers, just the bare essentials.

Before we could push knowing email address only. Now we need email address plus account number?

Justin, step #2 you still need all the details like name, address etc. If email and name do not match there will be an error. No more "Just make up the information" shady tactics!

account id or username will do to match the email address.
I usually fill it up with my information and the email address of the buyer, but now no need.

It gave me the option to use the account holders info - where I didnt have to put it in. I just tested it out on a push - worked just fine.

Yes, but you still had to make rest of the info up if that's what you chose to do.

Good news for a lot of people using GD. :D

does this make it easier or more difficult to steal names?

I love it!

It is way easier, and more secure (for the buyer), I think.

Now you can buy a name without giving away all of your information :)

Good to see GD catching up with the times in that respect.

Pushing at GoDaddy (new settings)

For those who don't know, GoDaddy has changed push settings to allow for email and username. The email and address format for pushing domains is still there but now you can push domains with a username instead of typing in name and address details. Receiving domains with this format is faster as well. No codes are required and going through GoDaddy checkout when receiving names is no longer required.

Usually when I push domains at GoDaddy, people don't give me all the correct address details and the most efficient way to push the domains is for me to make fictional address details and the buyer has to change the details later. Now that a username can be provided instead of address details pushing domains through GoDaddy is a lot easier.

Thanks for letting me know. I did look to see if somebody had already mentioned this but obviously not hard enough.
