Well GoDaddy Killing DAN is a ___________ (fill in the space) move because they're definitely going to loose a chunk of the lander market to other competitors.

With DAN, they dominated the entire Lander space bringing in that extra commission+offering more listings on GoDaddy-Dan syndication but with the recent move, they just opened more opportunities for another DAN 2.0's in the making.

And imposing a 25% penalty for their non-lander sales doesn't stop a lot of the market from using other Landers aswell if they don't fix the instabilities on the Landers, incorporate self brokerage option and don't force buyers to checkout via GoDaddy landing page.

Well maybe or maybe not it's good business for the top guys.

I wonder what 2025 will look like, I heard rumors of some potential Dan 2.0 or even a Dan 3.0, I'm just not sure who it's coming from.

Have you looked at other platforms, Sawsells, DomainEasy, Aftermarket.

Definitely some competition out there.

Dan was very popular platform, but there were a lot of junk domains posted there, as well as on Sedo, etc.

Synonymous to all marketplaces.

Synonymous to all marketplaces.
I mean there were advertising when you open your control panel, a lot of junk domains. Like "all post This, but your domains are The Best".

Look on Aftermarket.com market first page. Only 1 word .com with high xxx.xxx price.

GoDaddy has the traffic and even if they replaced all landers with random curse words, you will still use them. I am moving away from them because the broker updates are disrespectful to people that pay 15% plus in commission. Buyer call logging? Email sent to buyer? That is it, no more info?

There won't be next aftermarket like Dan or Uniregistry cause of GoDaddy's 10% penalty fee for using non-Afternic lander.

Uniregistry and Dan were lucky to be built and popular when GoDaddy did NOT have penalty fee for sellers not using their afternic lander.

They corrected the mistake.

The penalty fee is brilliant strategy by GoDaddy that kill any potential competitors from ever becoming the next Dan.

Sedo is dead anyway for 95% of domainers

Sedo is not dead. It's just in a coma

Let's see how this pans out. Some notable figures are already opting out of the GoDaddy landers anyway. They should be quick to implement support, self brokerage & a stable lander that doesn't randomly switch to something else.

AfterMarket is promising especially with the domain/Io integration. Looking forward to the future.

I have the big Daddy on my reg path. Wouldn't be that bordered if they take their 25% share. Let Big Daddy get to work.

Hi

you keep saying it,
but the sales they generate contradicts that.

imo...
No domainers or very few from NP or Twitter sell on Sedo based on what I read, Sedo sales are a mystery..

Hi

maybe they are low key about their sales,
as opposed to others who like to post their business on social media.

everybody ain't trying to tell everybody
what, when and how they do what they do.... as they do it.
perhaps they don't want others posting their crappy names there, to keep the level of quality higher than what's on the trending platforms.

i suggest you expand the scope of what you read, and how you read it.
know that, just because it's not being "talked about", doesn't mean it's not happening.

imo....

I think Sedo is just quiet they work well with some not so popular extensions. For example I sold a .Africa domain through Sedo.

My opinion is based on a very big sample on NP, Twitter and other sites about domaining, where investors never mention Sedo sales, but always and continuously mention AN or other channels. Plus my personal experience. Should I claim that Sedo is a HOT marketplace after all this? You said yourself you were a Sedo affiliate if I remember well, sooo...
