Go Daddy Gives Employees Cash
January 3, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Domain registrar GoDaddy.com (godaddy.com) announced last week that it had given $750,000 to its employees in rewards, bonuses and prizes, on top of its existing salaries and wages.
"Go Daddy gives money away all the time," says Bob Parsons, GoDaddy.com founder and president. "We do it with contests on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. A happy employee is a productive employee, no doubt about it. Giving more than people expect is one of my favorite parts of the job."
In December, Go Daddy created a contest rewarding top performers in its Scottsdale and Gilbert call centers with a shopping spree. Last week, the Web host gave away thousands of dollars to its employees at its annual holiday party, including cash prizes of up to $10,000, plasma TVs and dozens of other gifts.
Other employee incentives in 2005 included a Harley-Davidson motorcycle giveaway, which also rewarded the lucky employee with mortgage payments for a year. All of the company's incentive rewards are given with the taxes paid.
