GoDaddy Email Issues

If anyone else uses Godaddy to host email for a domain name, you may be in for a surprise this morning as its nearly impossible to check email. I unfortunately still hosted a few accounts with them this year but after this, will be moving my domain emails to GMAIL.

Yes but they are saying the following on the front page:

"Technical Difficulties
We are currently experiencing technical difficulty with our Email system. You may experience difficulty using your Email at the present time. We expect this issue to be resolved shortly and apologize for any inconvenience."

Yes, and it is back up. But not having email working on a Monday morning is a nightmare. One which I dont want to repeat.

GMail has had long (as in many hours) email outages too. And have lost accounts. Not sure I'd be trusting one's important email to them.

Many people assume the risk of lost data, inaccessibility, etc as a tradeoff of using a free service, though some are truly unaware of the horror stories regarding GMail, Hotmail, and Yahoo email. GMail offers paid accounts, but doubt that's any better other than perhaps one's trouble ticket gets answered a bit quicker. For many, it's near impossible to get personalized service from GMail - they could care less.

Some things to consider before dumping the GoDaddy email service.

I've never liked GoDaddy email accounts. Way too much spam. At least GMail takes care of most of that.

I had problems like 3 days last week and today morning. It's really starting to change my mind about godaddy. If my private email fails I can't send email to end users! No work = No Money!

Yes, but I pay for my Box with Godaddy...

I also pay for a Microsoft email plan setup with outlook.
