what did you mean "there is no domain exisiting (existing?) on that particular account no" ? ... or you meant "exiting" (as in leaving the account) ?

anyways , if you don't think the account is highjacked , just call them and they'll unblock it (as well as send a password reset) , it takes only a couple of minutes

I think they block it like that (phone call only) only after a couple of wrong attempts for security purposes ... from a customer service agent I have been told that if you have a credit card on file it locks even after just one wrong attempt (but not always after just one attempt) ... I think , though , that at that point (first wrong attempt) you can still use password retrieve (no need for a phone call)

The password reset in this case will not work because when you attempt it godaddy asks you to call billing support.

I called them up, and my account is active now, they verified existing customer id/login name, domain name and last six digit of cc no filed. after that provided a new customer id.

whole exp was really strange, there are other security options for resetting or verifying the account like domain names, security hint, etc. before all these account got blocked and flashing msg to call on a particular number. then what is the purpose of these features like domain names, security hint etc??.

ARonald - yes , what I wrote was regarding simple security safeguards this might be a little different (read the next paragraph)

DNBro - since they changed your customer number it is not a simple security measure (they didn't change my number when I blocked my account in the past) ... it is probably something similar to what beljf123 said ... probably one of their databases went down and they had to change some IDs/logins ... or someone tried to hack their system , logically with no success as beljf123 said (he said they told him no information was stolen)
