I had the sampe problem. You have to call them. It is a security reason. They told me that their system was compromised. They changed my customer number. You will have to reset your password also.

They told me that no informations was stolen.

I have found that Godaddy doesn't like IE anymore since they updated their site around 3 times - but it usually works fine with Firefox

if you have your credit card on file and you enter a wrong password to login it locks your account ... sometimes it locks even from the first wrong attempt ... and on occasion it demands that you call GoDaddy (by phone) to unlock your account (in this case a simple password reset won't work)

just call them and they'll unlock it

beljf123 - I don't think their system was compromised (and I don't understand why they changed your account number) ... it is just a security measure ... maybe the problem you had was different , though

It look like they have changed account no due to some security or what ever reasons, I got response from Godaddy, they saying, there is no domain exisiting on that particular account no, asking for domains names for verification

in some registrars if you don't login to your account for an extended period (2 months ??? , 6 months ???) they lock the account and ask for a phone call to unlock it (password reset does not work)

maybe that is the case since you say you have no domains in that account (if I understand correctly)

if you had domains in that account ... your account has been highjacked (and domains pushed or transferred) ... call GoDaddy immediately and tell them to track down all domains that have been pushed from your account to any other GoDaddy account (and also cancel any pending transfers of those domains to other registrars either from your account or the account(s) they have been pushed to

I have the same problem like You Dnbro, I'm little bit angry because I wanted to register domain when I found that my account is locked, 20 min later someone else registered this domain.
I emailed godaddy support and I hope that it will be possible to solve this problem by email because I will must buy special phone card to call to USA...

Well same problem here. It is more than a coincidence i feel. Do you guys also have tdnam account with godaddy?

I tried talking with the billing support staff and gave the last six digits of my paypal billing agreement but it did not work out. The rep asked me to send details to [email protected]. Sent an email lets see what happens.

Itโ€™s a coincidence, but it not happened with everyone I think, I also holding a tdnam account.

Itโ€™s more than 48hrs, also a good thing in case they are doing it for any security measures, but its not a good practice to block an account and asking to call on a particular ISD no. Minimum they can intimate those through email about that before doing anything such.

what did you mean "there is no domain exisiting (existing?) on that particular account no" ? ... or you meant "exiting" (as in leaving the account) ?

anyways , if you don't think the account is highjacked , just call them and they'll unblock it (as well as send a password reset) , it takes only a couple of minutes

I think they block it like that (phone call only) only after a couple of wrong attempts for security purposes ... from a customer service agent I have been told that if you have a credit card on file it locks even after just one wrong attempt (but not always after just one attempt) ... I think , though , that at that point (first wrong attempt) you can still use password retrieve (no need for a phone call)

But why so many people have this problem now?
There are threads about this at many other domain/webmaster forums, and all are created in the last 48h...

I had sent them mail yesterday mentioning details about user name & customer id, but as per response received they saying no domain exisiting under particular id, and asking for domain names registered under that particular id.

So i had sent mail with domain names and waiting for response.

By tommorow, problem not solved then i need to call them.

dnb8 - hmm ... probably then besides the normal lock ups for security purposes , there might be some other issue as well ... (just logged-in to check it , though , and it logged-in normally)

DNBro - ah ok , you mean the CS agent said there are no domains existing in that account ... since more people face the same issues (as per dnb8's post) then logically it is just a glitch or something ... maybe beljf123 (read post #8 above) went through the same issue
