These guys at GoDaddy just can't seem to suck enough blood out of people. I had some domains over there lying around and figured I park it with them until I found it would cost a couple of dollars per month just to park each domain. Are you kidding me?

Agreed. Parsons just going overboard.

I think the recap by firefly pretty much justifies closing this thread.

Another reason why it's always, always, always, use coupon code for godaddy purchases. Well, I guess they have to make up the cost on those widely available coupon codes and ease of *cough*domain tasting*cough*.

They do provide good service - but parking fees are just wrong.

Parking fees are wrong indeed. I tried one month, just to see, and I must say that the clicks and income were not bad for a few names. But they are not flexible at all for payments outside the US (no Paypal, and even no way to credit the earnings to my GoDaddy account, something that I find ridiculous for a registrar): this means that, since I stopped the service after one month, I was not even able to get my (small) proceeds... Typical GD, unfortunately...

This .. combined with a "fee" to help them drive money to their advertisers makes GD CashParking (IMHO) a FAIL.

That said, there are few parking companies (other than parking.com at times) that really give us the true value of our domains.

Putting money into building a mini-site will almost always outperform parking a domain as far as revenue streams go. Sure it's more effort (a couple of hours perhaps?) but if you have a name that's earning $5-6 a month on a good parking site, than you could almost certainly quintuple that by building a mini-site and installing contextual advertising and/or automated ads directly from affiliate programs.

That's been our real-world experience.
