question GoDaddy Brokerage, mandatory ?

Hello,
I'm interested in a domain in a niche insurance industry. The domain is "parked for free with GoDaddy" and the usual link leads to GoDaddy's Domain Brokerage service offering to negotiate for your for a flat fee + commission if success.

1) Does that mean that the owner will only go through GoDaddy brokering ? Or can I reach him directly or through another broker like Sedo ?

2) Any advice for a brokering service ?

Thank you
Hagop

"Parked for free with Godaddy" is the GD default. The owner did not choose it.
GD brokerage will write the owner a letter. You probably can do that: Look the domain up in Whois at Godaddy or elsewhere to find the owner's email.
Unless you really hate negotiating you don't need a broker.
