Has anyone had much success selling domains on godaddy auctions?

I have had some domains on there recently and they don't even seem to be getting any views?

I suspect that unless you buy upgrades your names won't be seen. I've never sold on auctions but have sold through premium listings.

I would say that Premium Listings are more than just a pure upgrade. It is another product altogether. You sell at fixed prices and your domain is listed on a lot of Registrars Domain Search Results and elsewhere.

If you are talking about the upgrades they offer you when you register your domain for sale on Google Auctions. They are pretty much all useless. Selling domains is all about the Domain Name. Any amount of GoDaddy Tricks isn't going to help you if the domain names you are selling are not desirable .

That's Afternic DLS not premium listings. Premium listings only show up on GoDaddy and not other registrars. Ironically, both are different products

Forgive me for my ignorance :( Then what does a GoDaddy Premium Listing give you? I thought they were one and the same as Afternic DLS?

GoDaddy Premium listing brings your domain in the registration/search path on GoDaddy. Premium listings also get listed on GD Auctions as BIN listings (if not already listed). Also Prem listings typically run for 90 days unless renewed (or set to auto renew via the prem listing manager).
Commission charge: 20% to 10% (low price to high price). Specifics at - https://www.godaddy.com/help/commission-rates-for-premium-listings-3494

Afternic DLS (With FT) brings your domain in the reg path of GD and ~100+ other registrars (I don't remember the correct registrar count atm). This is very similar to the GD prem listing but with other registrars also. One key difference though is that GD Prem listing price that is set by the owner is what is presented to the "searcher/buyer". In the case of Afternic DLS listing, some registrars markup the BIN price by up to 15% when presented to the buyers. This additional 15% is pocketed by the registrar themselves. This can be a negative depending on how you look at it.

One more point: GD recently started beta testing a much tighter integration between Afternic and GoDaddy. Now you can list your GD regged domains on Afternic directly from your GD domain manager. This also obviates the needs for GD premium listing. My expectation (and also read on other blogs who share this expectation) is that GD prem listing will likely go away and be fully replaced by Afternic DLS/Prem listing.

GD listings are confusing af to me. I had some regular listings with make offer and I got an offer on 1 (doing a test so pushed to auction to see what happens) and it said Premium... but then I think that disappeared the next time I looked.

I think we need a NP Domainers guide to proper GoDaddy Auctions, explaining whichone of the options listed on listing options is more profitable business and why?

Even after buying upgrades I haven't got views.

May be you landed at the indian regional web portal of GD. Try going back to godaddy.com and find your way.

Thanks for the reply!! :)

Yeah. Thatโ€™s what I was thinking as well. But, it didnโ€™t help when I logged out and back in it came up the same. I also closed my browser and manually typed in Go Daddy .com and still had the problem. I checked my currency preferences and the currency chosen is correct in my preferences but itโ€™s not showing the proper currency on the website.

Clear your browser cache and cookies for godaddy.com and try again. Or better clear all cache in your browser

It sounds like the cookie for your currency has been deleted or expired. Usually this is a simple fix. On the GoDaddy landing page, go to the bottom of the page and change your currency. At least this is how I've always been able to sort out this problem.

What @stub said. Near the bottom of the page, there will be two drop downs style menus. One for country and the other for currency. Change them to your preference and it should be sorted everywhere
