I've tried one or two domains in Godaddys 7 day auction in the past, without success. Scrolling through the current listings, it seems as though there's little point listing anything there. Very little seems to attract much in the way of bids, even some seemingly good domains don't appear to be getting much if any attention !? Flippa doesn't seem much better. Any opinions as to the best, if any, auction platform ?

You'll have to advertise the names on blogs, forums and sites to get exposure.
Quality of the name is important as well.

Anything other than liquid domains and premium names is likely going to take time in my opinion. Like if you put a 4L up for auction on GD you're going to get bids in no time. For other names you basically just have to wait for the right eyes to see your listing and that can take time. Getting a featured listing on GD will get you a lot more views but you should only get it if you really think your name is worth it.
You can also try Bido for less premium names.

Despite their shortcomings, GoDaddy is still the premier Domain Sales company. But it's a crowded world out there.

The names that don't usually sell are not worth buying, although I've snapped up a few good ones for $12, as the only bidder. The premium names almost always do well, as many people are always looking for them. But I think the key is that you need to advertise the auction to people that may be interested. It might not get spotted otherwise.

Did you try to auction them here too?

I agree, you have to spread the word about your auction on GD. One good idea to get the word out is Domain Shanes Daily List. Alot of people read it and it's like $10.

That's pretty good advice.

It depends on the domain.Good domains get bided on.

All the auction platforms have general problem. We don't have any good platform that can encourage beginner domainers. So, it's hard to get bids on platforms if you don't know or don't have good names. And i dont even wanna mention about commisions, charges or min fee to promote domains in auction.
Good luck.

had similar experiences recently at both flippa and godaddy, to get attention at these auction places one needs premium domains, decent to good ones hardly get any attention.
