it sounds like someone has taken control of your account. i'd contact google, registrars, etc asap before any damage can be done.

Ray, do as shockie say's ASAP!!!

I read earlier that you are currently out in the Mid-East on your way to the Gan. You need to be very careful using the web when you have no idea what the language is, or says. This can lead you to clicking on re-directs and keyloggers that you won't know about until it's too late!

Yup. Your account password was keylogged or something. Get ahold of Google like...right now.

Sorry to hear about the problems, hope you can sort them out.

FYI, once you get up and running again if you are using XP you should install snoopfree privacy sheild from http://www.snoopfree.com/

This program will alert you of any program that is trying to hook up to your keyboard and will ask you what you want to do, accept or deny.

Check all of your mail filters. Some of them may be set up to forward emails to the hacker.

Good point, that is something I wouldn't have thought about :red:

Good luck with it all -Ray-, I hope you get everything back
and running smoothly, you have enough going on over there!

i'm glad google was so quick to fix this and your bank was keen enough to deny the purchases. hopefully namecheap can do what they can to get your domains back.

Thats great to hear you have everything back once more!

A few pointers may put some interest to everyone. When traveling often you most likely need the internet like we all do.
- You find a free wifi spot, sit down, enjoy a cuppa and go look at your bank records.

That'll be the most common mistake made by people. As you'll find with those wifi spots:
1. Its an unsecure connection.
2. Its got no encryption what so ever!
3. Wifi can be sniffed quite easily! (I've personally tried it myself and was able to pick up my own password going through the air!)

Recommendations:
1. Use a secure VPN connection (I myself now have my own personal VPS which has OpenVPN installed)
2. Always use https, it makes it harder for sniffers to locate your password. Although it does not mean its impossible!

Well good luck to you all, hope this helps :)
