I registered bleed.in at domainsite.com in nov 2006. It was to expire nov 2007 as I didn't renew it but it didn't. The domain is removed from my domainsite account but Whois data says its expiry date is nov 2008. Its still registered in my name and has the namesevers set to my host... weird!

What should I do??

Would they provide support.. cause I didn't renew. I'll try anyway though.
And has anyone heard of things like this happening before?

If your domain is good enough and when it is going to expire and you don't renew it, your describled situation may be appear. The problem is: currently you already do not have the right to own this domain name and I suggest you contact the registrar to see whether you can bought it back or not and at what price level.

Contact support, nobody else can help you.

Answer !

If your domain name expires before you have a chance to renew it, please give us a call. For a short period of time, anywhere from 1 to 45 days, after a domain name expires, it is still available for renewal; however, at any time during this period and at our discretion, we may direct the central registry to delete the domain. If your expired domain fall in this period, and has not yet been deleted at the central registry, we can renew it for the standard renewal fee, plus a $15.00 late charge. If and when your expired domain name is deleted at the central registry, it enters what is known as a ๏ฟฝredemption period.๏ฟฝ During this 30-day period, the domain name is held by the central registry and is unavailable for renewal, transfer, or any other account changes; likewise, associated web resources, such as websites and email service, will not function. If your expired domain name has been deleted and has entered the redemption period, you have two methods of recourse: you may allow the redemption period to run its course, after which the domain name is available again for registration at a first-come, first-served basis, or you may pay a $120.00 fee through us to the central registry in order to remove the domain from the redemption period. In order to avoid any late charges, please keep your domain name๏ฟฝs registration current. It is your responsibility to keep your registration up-to-date. We send renewal notices to the email address listed for the domain๏ฟฝs administrative contact. If this email is not kept current, you will not receive your renewal notices. It is your responsibility to update all of your contact information. .

My guess is that what you are seing is registry expiry date and not registrar expiry date.
Expired domains are typically renewed with the registry for one year, but the registrar can claim the money back from the registry if the domains drops within 45 days.
To see what I mean check your domain with domaintools.com like this:
enter
http://domaintools.com/domain.com (replace domain.com with the actual domain). You will see registry data and registrar data.
If you see that registry expiry date = registrar expiry date + 1 year
then you must renew your domain or it will be dropped by your registrar and this is not a glitch.

Yeah don't trust that whois. sdsinc is right...often registrars on the last few days will take it and add more time to the whois but it will not be yours anymore. That's how tdnam works.

Bet they temporarily renewed it because they think they can sell it. If you don't want it don't worry about it. If you want it back contact them.
