Hi,
I opened a site called xxdating.net about 3 weeks ago. the site is doing great, but now I am getting emails from other "Adult Related" sites with offers to buy this domain from me.. They are giving me nice offers but I'm unsure who or what company i can trust to give me a good valuation..

Thanks For your Time

Im sure some people here can give you a figure. If it was xxxdating.com i would imagine several thousand dollars and up, but xxdating.net, i realy dont know how to value that. Do they want the whole site, or just the domain?

I know you say the domain, but do they expect the whole site? Could be a big difference.

If the site is doing great and you like running it I would guess you will make a lot more money from it that way than selling it.

Anything over $25 is a great offer for the domain alone I think.

If it's a new domain those offers are probably coming from automated software picking up the new listing and they will only give you a genuine offer when/if you reply and a human has a proper look at the site.

i dont think it was a robot emailing me, i talked with the guy also lol

the offers were in the lower $xx,xxx

Does the email look something like this? If so that is the appraisal scam.

If you get a legit offer in the $XX,XXX range for a domain like this you better go buy some lottery tickets immediately.

It does sound a bit too good to be true :(

I'm happy for you if it proves genuine though!

If you have spoken to the person, ask him to proceed the payment with escrow and you even accept the full fees.

But don't transfer b4 getting full payment

If they ask you to appraise the domain using an appraisal service they tell you to use, its a scam.
You'll have to pay $60 or so for the appraisal, which is totally worthless, after you ordered the appraisal they'll come up with a bullsh*t amount and you'll never hear back from them.

$10,000 offer on a .net that is three weeks old? For that to be legit it would have to be a webmaster that people know, so ask around. GFY would be your best bet for info on the guy.
