Getting Auth code from GoDaddy

hello every one,

I have a domain name registered with godaddy and is expirering in about 12 days and I want to transfer it to another register. However when I bought the name from the after market I forgot to change the contact name and it still has the old owner in the WHOIS area. The problem is that godaddy sends out the auth code via email. And godaddy doesnt let you transfer a domain within 60days of changing the WHOIS. I am unable to renew the domain with godaddy because it requirers a CC with paypal and I dont have one.

Does anyone know a way to get around it?

I am not sure how your Paypal is funded. Maybe you can push the domain to another NP member with a GD account. Send them the money to renew it with however your Paypal is funded & they can renew it. After this is done, they can push it back to you.

You won't get around the 60 days but you can at least have control of it completely & transfer it out after the time is up.

You only have to change the Administrator's email address.

If you don't change the Registrant info, perhaps GoDaddy won't lock the domain for 60 days. That's what I always thought. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My paypal account is funded by my bank account which is not a credit card.

Maybe you can push the domain to another NP member with a GD account. Send them the money to renew it with however your Paypal is funded & they can renew it. After this is done, they can push it back to you.

managed to get in contact with EG.domains the original owner and he was fine forwarding the code on

FYI...you can use the option under TOOLS to bulk export your domain list. You just check off the auth code and it will be included in the download. The download take a few minutes but then it's available in the admincp.
