I sold a domain on GD auction and the domain expires tomorrow, will I need to renew it in order to transfer it to the buyer?

It was a cheap domain and I don't want to spend the extra for the renewal if I don't need to.

You might need to. You should call GD and ask them.

If the buyer doesn't pay for a day or two then what? If you made some money on the sale, then do the buyer a solid and renew it, or at the very least contact them and tell them about it. Maybe they will reimburse you for the renewal.

Tell the buyer that if you renew it now it can't be transferred for 60 days(I think).

If Auction ended before renewal than I think renewals are paid by the buyer.

Seriously?

I think a registration fee is added for one year on auctions but it's still sketchy. At other places (Sedo for example) you can't sell a name within 60 days of expiry I believe - which is how it should be.

And people wonder why people thing domaining is sleazy?!
