It looks like Games.TV just recently got registered in December. It was a $100,000/yr premium name. The owner owns juego.tv (Spanish for game) and also juegos.com which I believe was purchased for $800,000. Good news!

Jeff is in the loop! :D

I tend to agree with you Jeff that it wont be long, but i have no reason to think that other than it would be crazy to pay that renewal and not maximise the branding power this name clearly has,but who knows really.., the guy is obviously not stupid and has some great names ,so the best i can do is idle speculation at this point. :|

Some are in the loop and some are just plain loopy!

The guy must have balls of steel at $100,000 a year.

...and a major plan.

My hat is off to this guy - and good luck to him.

Fantastic news fo finish of a great year.

High premiums have been bought up steadily over the course of 2008 which does go to show that major Endusers are comfortable for paying high premium renewals to own the perfect keyword. :imho:

Excellent news for the Spanish .tv market also, a few Np members will be delighted at this.

Games.tv one of the best one word generics out there because it can refer to many things. The spanish version of games (Juegos) not only means games but also refers to gaming and gambling as well. To me it's the # 1 spanish term to register, hence the $800,000 sale of Juegos.com.

With the pre-christmas discount of 15% the maximum they would have paid is $85,000, probably cut a better deal than that.

Hopefully they'll be smart and not redirect it eventually, even if it means developing another games site specifically for it. That's a killer domain and redirecting it is wasting it IMO.

We need to keep track and publicize these type of premium registrations. This $100,000 may end up being Half a million if registered for 5 years. This equates to a very large domain investment, and may represent one of the largest domain purchases of this year.

Great idea. Except the actual sales price with probably remain private. It could have been only a fraction of $100k.

Either way, it's good news.

Its a Dutch company who rules the games land :bingo:
Spelletjes.nl is where they started at, with more than 100 millions users a month worldwide this is a very great news for dotTv.

I believe they have a big plan for this name. They have their own games developer in house, so its easy to monitize it.
And they are from Hilversum, Netherlands Multi Media City :tu:
