Looking to create a free game site but not sure how to go about it! Any advice would be much appreciated!

What kind of site? Flash Games? Or games for playstation, PC, Xbox etc?

Once you done that get your domain from here, find a free host and (if you dont know php,html etc) find a free script or pay somebody here with the NP you get from posting to make you a script.
