It will happen anyways in the future; pda devices will replace or do the same jobs of laptops, mainly due to the convenience.
Question here is, how long does it will take, few peoples comments dot mobi is a flop but I can’t really agree with that.
I haven’t seen hardly any dot mobi sale on forums these days. Also as per 3character price guide, current average price for a LLL mobi is $170.00, it was around $300.00 few months back.

Even go through sedo sales records, you can find so many quality domains sold on $xxx mid range.
Handhelds are the future. ... and ... the future is already started.
Allow your mind to not just think of handhelds as being for "on the go" - but think of handhelds as being for "ANYWHERE a few steps away from the PC or laptop." Anywhere in the future that you will be sitting, standing, talking, watching, etc, - you will have the internet at your fingertips. Talk about a walking encyclopedia and online store!
Being an integral part of that is the potential power of .mobi names. Dot mobi was designed and introduced to build content for the handheld space.
Naysayers spend a lot of energy to try to discount any positive news about the steady adoption of .mobi by the corporate world and to attempt to discourage he steadfast belief in the extension by many domainers. There are some naybobs who are borderline pathologically psychotic about "dot mobi" (note correct spelling for said persons' benefits), others who are just lashing out because of all the attention dot mobi has gotten, some who have missed out on the potential domainer cash flow going to their pockets that was redirected into dot mobi extension names starting in fall 2006, and some who may see .mobi sites as competition for "eyeball" revenue down the road.
But dot mobi marches along.
There have been and currently are some interesting .mobi sales to end users whether naybobs want to admit it or not. I am aware of one nice LLL nearing the end of its escrow/transfer process at SEDO which should be out this coming week. But it won't be noted at the often quoted "3 character" because they focus and report on the LOWEST sales figures for non-premium LLL names, not on the average LLL sale, and surely not the above average LLL sale ... which happen ... well ... about 50% of the time.
Again - Please note the title of their report -
Current Observed Minimum Wholesale Price (regardless of letter combo) ... BTW, even as .mobi is only less than 2 years old it is consistently bringing in better pricing than the much older .biz, .info, and .us LLL names.
Some have been successful at flipping LLLL, LLLLL or CVCVCV names to other domainers and yes some of those will eventually end up with end users for nice paydays. But LLL names are obviously much rarer, applicable and more useable to a wider audience. There are bargains to be had on LLL .mobi, .mobi, and many other names these days.
For ANY extension - - - Unless you plan on developing and brand-building a domain name yourself, I think that it is sound advice to hand register or buy names on the aftermarket that only would make sense to a large group of potential end users.
If you look at a name you own (in any extension) and would not register it again today, then let it drop or sell it cheaply on the forums. However, if you have nice useable generic .mobi names and/or have development ideas for your "brandable" names, they should be worth the $10 renewal fees for a quite a number of years.
One other point that should be mentioned also is that there are sales that do not get reported, whether it is .mobi or any other extension. You are not seeing all the quality names that are transacted
outside the domainer sales reporting sites.
And dot mobi marches along.
