I remember there was a thread here about funny replies on our e-mails and inquiries. Can't find it, so want to create this one.

Yesterday got an offer via Sedo on one brandable .com (it was $500).
I countered with a $2400 and got a counter in ammount $500 (again) with, I think, funny and creative comment:

"Hi. I would like to buy your domain name for my wife. (its her nickname!) Please sell it to me for 500 ( I dont even know why i offerd that much. Thank you!"

:)

Well, I didn't read the comment (cause it was under review) and cancelled the negotiations.
In 1 hour I've got an e-mail from a guy interested in the same domain. And it was normal inquiry (without mentioning his wife). :)

LOL my reply would have been like this:

The problem is so many would lie that you cant even believe people's stories other than play along for fun.

You could have asked if the wife nickname for the husband was "cheap a$s"

Got many like that.

Best one was one guy offering me 60 USD for a CVCV.com and when I countered it with 5K he sent me 65 USD offer.

When I cancelled the negotiations he found my whois and emailed me asking me did I pressed the cancel button by mistake? and would I like him to resend the offer.

I replied to him that No it wasn't by mistake and I am not planning to sell it.

To which he emails back telling me how he lives in canada which is still under some british rule etc stuff and can't I make an exception in this one.

When I denied it he started playing it hard way. Told me it was my last chance to sell it for 65 USD or else I will be making a loss of renewal fees on it every year. Explained me how to do my business etc :D

To which I said I don't care if I make a loss but I don't want to sell it. That's it.

3 months later he is still whining and I have stopped replying.

A guy looked up my whois on a domain and sent me an offer of $10. I wrote back and politely declined the offer. He wrote back, "I don't think you understand. I'm actually offering you money for this piece of sh*t domain."

I don't remember which domain it was in particular, but a year or so ago, I received an offer through an email, got it through whois, and this lady offered me 30$ for a .com that I later sold for over 500$.. when I declined her offer, she replied back with

"Why not? You can get like 3 more for that money" haha

Funny how people can make up a story just to get what they want. Its a hit or miss, but most of those insane stories are funny. I don't have my own to share but I might in the near future!
