Ummm, it sure was a standout ... :guilty: :imho:

Most .MOBI crazed folks thought it would sell for $550,000+/+/+ (with lots posting publicly here that it would sell for $750,000+, $1,000,000+, and $1,085,000+/+), IMHO. :gl:

It "sold" - to whom we don't know yet, and for what specific purposes (including development) that are not yet known - for only $110,000 ! :o

.MOBI Caveat Emptor™, friends!
-Jeff B-)

And they could have had Porne.mobi for much less. :)

You may have a reading comprehension issue ... it's quite common, actually ... but if you go back and re-read my entire post, yes, "only $110,000" for a MAJOR keyword such as "porn" (with referencing several public expectations / predictions here, again as I mentioned in that post, of $1,000,000+/+ and more, is reason enough to give everyone pause on the saleability / viability of the future of the "dot mobey" extension, in my view. :red: :snaphappy:

The facts are clear ... that ".MOBI" is in a downward spiral at present ... and my humble advice - again, as I wrote above, to the community is BE VERY CAREFUL in these investments and registrations! :guilty: :imho:

Thanks for understanding.

lol

and BocaVision that banked "only 20k" off a pre-registration from about a year ago that probably cost him like $60 to register (unless it went to pool auction)

such lousy profits... :(

Yes, I believe that except for those very, very FEW that got in very, very early - in whatever arrangement they may have been - on a, relatively speaking, few good, generic and "keyword" dot Mobey domains ... the end is very near (if not here already if looking at the status of the critical "ecosystem")! :guilty: :snaphappy: :imho:

Yes, one example (of the few rare exceptions that I mentioned above) ... by the way, do you know who purchased "Shows.mobi" (if that is the one you're referencing?), and its specific terms (including its critical development)? :gl: :|

Thanks for the assist.

who cares what other domainers predicted ??? they're predictions are as worthless as appraisals.

i for one would have predicted, that surely CD.com and BJ.com would have sold for high 6 ot 7 figures, i mean they're extremely recognizable globally accepted 2 letter .coms, but it was passed at only $220,000 and $250,000... what do you make of this ... you're pointing out porn.mobi as an exception, so don't give me your 'well there's exceptions to the rules' theory.

do we need to give pause on the .com marketplace? is it in a downward spiral?

cool, so im safe. ;)

seriously nobody was saying that during landrush... the attitude across the board was it was stupid to even spend $60 on any dot moebee dough maines..

i dont know who bought the domain or their development plans and i really dont care... the domain business (.com included) is supported in-part by commodity traders.. this is about making money.

get with the program. :)

I care what others predicted ... and if you had read (and quoted) my entire post, we might not be having this discussion. Also, please don't calls other's appraisals "worthless", just because you may not agree with them is not a good reason to put them all down as "worthless", IMHO.

do we need to give pause on the .com marketplace? is it in a downward spiral?

^ Exactly (but with "dot Mobey") ... the "marketplace" (extremely narrow, limited and incestuous, as it is :red: ) as well as the critical "ecosystem" (essentially, non-existent), but again all of that was clearly referrenced in my exceptions post above! :gl:

Of course, ^ this is part of the problem ... with continuing to HYPE a new extension for the purposes of GREED and behalf of a very few individuals as noted in the exceptions post above IMHO. The "marketplace" ... as evidenced by the "sale" of Porn.mobi for literally pennies on the dollar when compared with appraisals and public predictions here, is VERY LIMITED and VERY NARROW (I've read it's incestuous, and I agree with that description!) ... and hyped here at the expense of the once important developed critical "ecosystem", in my view. :imho:

Just my two sense.

^ That's not the point ... but, of course, it serves your .MOBI Agenda™, IMHO. :|
Doesn't it?

It was supposed to be about End users and Developers ... the developing and promoting the critical .MOBI "ecosystem" ... and not about mTLD GREED :$: and a very few, select domainers (or as you call them, "dough mainers") making as much as the possibly can by hyping the extension and also helping to sell more registrations for mTLD (who completely abandoned the once promoted and important RFP process - yes, mTLD removed this from their site!) of the backs of the new/newer members, IMHO. There are literally 1,000's of undeveloped generic dot Mobies out there languishing and there will be until mTLD can make as much MONEY :$: from them as they possibly can ... :imho:

Caveat Emptor, friends!

PS. You folks can discuss the rest of this in the #1 Namepros .MOBI Forum, as well! :talk:

You've been HYPING it from the beginning, that is correct ... and there are a lot of folks that have a LOT of registrations and, quite simply, they are not feeling the "success" that you reference of the very few, privileged insiders that are selling and trading these very FEW generic / keyword type domains! :guilty: :imho:

What happened to your support of the RFP process ... and the CRITICAL developed "ecosystem"?!? :red:

unlike you i dont have a crystal ball... i take more of a wait and see approach.. this is speculation.

generalizing me will get you nowhere.. how do you know i even supported the RFP process and all this other stuff you're talking about?

i dont know the future, i dont know how the .mobi thing will turn out... but i have a good feeling about it.

thats it jeff... thats all. no magic dust and no hype here.. just a lonely gut feeling.

I can't locate "geneology.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements) on the list ... I'm probalby just missing it in a quick glance. :gl:
Link: http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/events/187/results.html

Also, I'd be very interested in the SPECIFIC auction details of the "sales" (not yet completed or verified) of "Tickets.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements), "Property.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements), "Vegas.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements), and "Shows.mobi" (owned by an Usual Suspect™) ... including the exact Buyers and their specific development plans and budget / timelines for marketing and promotions! :imho:

Fair enough ... let's not get too off topic ... but the FACTS remain crystal clear, these dot Mobey domains "sold" at Traffic (and Sedo) are of the incestuous breed and caliber, IMHO - and until mTLD figures out a way to actually enforce development and promotion (as the RFP process would have ensured (mTLD, in its infinite wisdom, abandoned this RFP process for :$: MONEY & GREED) of these, literally, 1,000's of reserved and premium domains, the extension will continue to languish - the only exceptions being those VERY FEW whom I mentioned above, and the Usual Suspects™ - such as yourself, in my humble observation - claiming "sales" that are occurring (between Usual Suspects™ for hype and "reported sales" purposes). :red:
And around and around it goes ... more drops than registrations and renewals, difficulty selling even in the "Quick Sale" aftermarket, non-developments, lack of adoption and promotion by End users, 1,000's still in the hands of mTLD for PROFITS :$: ... around and around and around ...

Good Luck to those investing in Traffic, and caveat emptor - in particular - to those considering spending good money after bad in the "dot Mobey"! :guilty: :imho:

Onward and upward!

do you think mTLD is having one big office party with the proceeds of all the domain sales?

btw jeff, all my sales were for real money.... that is the only reason i sold .mobi's....not for hype, not for reported sales... i dont even usually add my own sales to the "reported sales thread"... i actually bought groceries at the grocery store with the money... its real money that spends jeff... the cashier didnt ask me if it was hyped-mobee-money.

i am not denying the current state of the .mobi aftermarket... in fact i made predictions about it a year ago in this thread:

Also, I'd be very interested in the SPECIFIC auction details of the "sales" (not yet completed or verified) of "Tickets.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements), "Property.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements), "Vegas.mobi" (owned by mTLD with mandated development requirements), and "Shows.mobi" (owned by an Usual Suspect™) ... including the exact Buyers and their specific development plans and budget / timelines for marketing and promotions! :imho:

Check out Michael Berkens blog, he updates it frequently.

I do.

I would like to see a full ACCOUNTING of all Sedo and Traffic proceeds :$: ... with full DISCLOSURE as to where these proceeds are going, how much, to whom, for what specific purpose(s), and all critical details insofar as the marketing and promotion of the extension, and salaries and bonuses and payouts and options to all employees and persons affiliated with mTLD, IMHO. :gl:
As .MOBI investors, you folks should be demanding same! :yell: :snaphappy: :imho:

Have a great Sunday! :music:
