I was a bidder in the Namejet auction for FreeTetris.com which was picked up for $1,750.
When I did a Google search for 'tetris', freetetris.org beat out the official tetris.com site! Also, the freetetris.org site gets more than 1.5 million visitors per month.
Given the above, why then did the domain freetetris.com sell for so low? Was it because people missed this under the radar? Were they afraid of the trademark issues (which, btw, freetetris.org won an arbitration brought by The Tetris Company in Sep 2007).
So, can anyone explain to me what I'm missing here? To me, if I can get a dot-com and the corresponding dot-org is getting that type of traffic, I would have paid 10X what was paid by the winner of the auction.
Thanks!
