Free Directory Listings - How long does it take?

Some of the advice here in the forums suggest submitting your new domain to directory listings sites to get search engines indexing your site and creating traffic.

my question in how many free directories sites do have to submit to to get decent traffic and is it worth submitting to a paid directory listing site and what are the expected results?

you don't stop promotion, you do it on a daily habit, sometimes boost your submission by submitting to 100 directories at a time which takes me 1 hour or 3 hours as the case maybe. you have to do it regularly or at the least submit to 5 directories a day.

yes paid features of directories are ok as well depending on the price.

Agreed, just make it part of your normal weekly schedule. At our office, we have a list of several sites, and we submit all of them to about 5 new directories per week.
