Can someone please explain how to link from one frame to another - i.e. if the frames are called A.B and C.html - how can you link from Frame A links to go in Frame B

Also I was just wondering how to create a form where you can type in your name and date of birth with validation requests say - "Thank you Joe Smith" and at the end the result saying Hello Joe Smith. did you know on your next birthday you will be 50 years old

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

<a href="URL" target="B">TEXT</a>

In the frame code you name the frame...target it to that frame and it will open there...

I don't really like frames though, they are way outdated and can get annoying.

frames can be annoying but useful for some heres an easierway of getting them going...

try calling your frames something like....
"top.html" which could hold your logo
"menu.html" which would hold the obvious
and "main.html"
etc etc
then anything in the menu frame that u need to link to and show up in the main page is done as keef pointed out above ....
<a href="/aboutus.html" target="main">ABOUT US</a>

word of advice if u use frames = make sure if u put links to other websites on your main pages that you target them to a blank page or a new page outside of your frames otherwise it gets messy and doesnt look nice when other whole sites appear within your frames ;)

good luck

Someone else already posted the answer but yes frames are a bad thing when it comes to search engines and are often annoying to the user. If you are using frames as a template solution there are many other ways with scripting that will make your life a lot easier.

Feel free to PM if you need more help still.
