Forum(s) Singular or Plural?

Just want to know what others think about the plural form for 'forum' in a domain name.

I ask becasue I see and hear amny folks that refer to one forum as forums, as if to call each section it's own forum.

How about you. Do you see/hear forums being used when actually referring to only one forum site?

So, if you agree that the plural form is pretty popular, how much less do you think the plural is worth given that the singular is taken but not developed.
What about if the singular is developed already?

well i use plural i more people around where i live refer to it all as "forums" so i chose forums.

I supose its down to opinion and sometime it may be best to get both the plural and singular

Yes, I agree, especially if you are serious about developing a forum.

Yes, it is good to get both, but bludy expensive.

I prefer not to use "forum(s)" in domains, but if you're determined - take both. Use singular for official name, point plural to the singular. That is, off course, if they're both available.

True, never thought of that before but it does tend to restrict you somewhat to forums, however, I have seen successful forums that are not just forum sites. One being merchantaccountforum

But i do see the point in not likeing the word "forum" in the domain name. However, if your primary fxn is a forum, I think it is best to use the word just in case Google really does look at URLs (which I am not convinced of yet).

Mole, I see your point that it is expensive to get both the singular and plural, bu tonly from a domain trader's point of view. But for someone who is not a trader and is only looking to buy one name to put a forum up on, $18.00 per year really is not that much, especially if the site becomes "successful".

Which one will do better for anchor text? Assuming you can only optimize for one only.
