Im considering adding in a blog or forum for cusotmers and potential customers to my limo site in my sig. But cannot decide, and ive never worked with a blog before. The problem is "what fits"? I dont think I can get my VBulletin to look very good, or good enough for the sites theme. Is a blog any easier to manage ?

Any suggestions ?

Thx
K

the first thing that comes to my mind is a Forum with very few members does not look the best, where as a blog with few members looks OK

just my opinion and im just guessing the Forum wouldnt have to many members

ALSO i just looked at your site have you ever been to your site in Mozilla or another NON Internet Explorer web browser? cos it looks like a big mess :/

Well, in FF and Opera it looks fine to me, thats wat I use. I dont plan on a forum or blog to look messy on the site. On the other hand, I make alot of money from that site bud and cant wait to see that resdesign !

Does anyone have a suggestion, as far as SEO goes its a toss up to me. The integration is the question. What is the easiest and best looking for the site so it doesnt look so barron ?

Thx again

It looks fine to me in my Firefox browser. :red: Could it be something in your profile that's causing the problem (theme or extensions)?

all i know is it is something at or near the end of the page as when the site first loads everything is in place but right near the end of the page loading everything goes out of place

it could be something to with my Browser but this is the only site that i have any problems with and the only 3 extentions i have enabled dont effect the look of a site and i have had the extentions for quite some time now and all has been ok :/

EDIT:
i just worked out what was causing it, it was due to the fact that i have my browser set up to NOT load flash (unless i OK it) when i enabled the flash on the page all was ok

so it was related to my web browser BUT this hasn't ocoured on other sites hence the reason i never picked up on what was causing it

sorry for the dramas

:imho: requiring Flash for a page to display properly or providing key functions (i.e. navigation) is poor usability. I would really investigate this.
It's a very decent design otherwise. ;)

But What abt the forum or blog dilemma!
My opinion is, you should add a blog rather than a forum. If you wanted to sustain a huge number of clients (like toothpaste buyers) a forum could work well because thare a three way communication is necessary. But as far as your site is concerned, a blog would do just what you need.
Thanks.

I second blog also, there's always more dynamics and flexibility, as well as a little bit less responsibility about a blog.

Go for blog. when you have regular traffic, you can always opt to add the forum down the road.

Don't mind my words if I say "You Are Absolutely Wrong" - a blog is as serious as your Paypal account!

Al depend on your final target. What are you interesting in? How do you want to get a profit?

Both blog and forum require a lot of work. The good thing in a blog is that mostly you can keep it very well with no other help than yourself. In the forum's case you always need to have people contribute content. A community is very hard to keep up, while a blog is a bit easier in this matter.

I agree with all the preceding posts; a blog looks better because it's not "member centric" as a forum. Forums need a lot of promotion to look half-decent (members and posts wise). On the other hand, very simple, lineal forums (those that almost look like a guestbook) work ok with some sites.

A blog would be easier to manage, but I personally believe a forum is more customer friendly.

I would vote for blog as no headache of dealing with forum members violating forum rules or sth like that, having blog is cool these days ;)

In my experience having a forum on a site requires constant checking. It needs a lot of time. While blogging, i just write, then moderate the comments.

I'd go with a forum, wordpress maybe. Easier to use and manage.

Blog would be better if your site has not that many dedicated users.
But if your site does have lots of dedicated users then a Forum would be cool.
