VBulletin Mods?

Im in two minds of either purchasing IPB with addons:

Invision Power Board Yearly License · $69.95
Invision Gallery · $65.00
Invision Blog · $50.00
TOTAL- $184.95

Or getting a vBulletin Owned lisence - $160.00

My question is this, are there any free mods around for vBulletin that are like the gallery and blog addons for IPB? And are these mods as good as the paid Invision addons?

I think quite a bit of VBulletin stuff costs money. People figure since the consumers pay $100+ for the lisence they can afford a few bucks for mods.

Actually most vB hacks/add-on's are free. There are a select few that are premium hacks, but the ones that have premium hacks I believe most if not all have a free counterpart as well.


There are galleries available for vB i believe, i'm not sure if there is a similar blog one, if you check vbulletin.org you can search there to see. You won't be able to download them since you don't have a license but you should be able to view them.

Look on vbulletin.org for mods.

There is vBJournal, i think that will do your blog job.

And you can have good a good gallery, and intergrate it into VB...

The mods are easier to install and the majority of the mods are free as well. Definitely worth the initial payment.

I own several copies of VB and would recommend it hands down over invision ANY day. Good choice. You won't regret it.

That is right. The hacks are free if you pay for a license. I knew someone that in the day had an illegal copy and complained about how he couldn't get mods. Well, his site went down pretty fast, but now I remember that if you had a valid license they are free. Sorry about the confusion and great choice!

vB actually has some nice hacks that are coming out such as the gallery and other things you may have in mind.

In that case of purchasing a license, everything is free with the license. Owned, you have to update every year for $30.
