World’s second-largest Internet domain name registrar eNom, Inc. has appointed Taryn Naidu, the former CEO of pool.com, as an executive advisor to its management team. In this position, Naidu will drive business and product development strategy as well as recommendations for promoting corporate growth.

“Taryn is a true domain name player whose expertise coupled with his solid reputation is very valuable,” said Paul Stahura, founder and CEO of eNom and president and COO of its parent company, Demand Media. “We have our sights set on growing the aftermarket business, and with Taryn’s experience, we can implement our new aftermarket strategy.”

Naidu’s immediate focus will be eNom’s aftermarket and auction business called Club Drop™ (clubdrop.com). “Online users have become more sophisticated and their appreciation for aftermarket opportunities is increasing,” explained Naidu. “I will help eNom put in place what is needed to anticipate their users’ needs and take Club Drop to the next level.“

Does this make anyone else sick? I have been liking enom less and less over the past few months and now this does it for me. Why would enom hire anyone from Pool, especially Taryn Naidu?

Vote in the Pool and tell enom what you think.

Is Taryn Naidu good for enom?

“I will help eNom put in place what is needed to anticipate their users’ needs and take Club Drop to the next level.“ Taryn Naidu said.

Yes, enom has already gone to the "next level" with $60 minimum bids and now, assuming they will follow the Pool.com business model, you will have the pleasure of bidding against yourself in all auctions. Is this what he means by "anticipating the users' needs"?

Good bye enom. Snap must be smiling!

verisign needs to put all the "fake registars" in place . . . snapname and clubdrop just set them up to catch names rather than to register domains . . . shady . . . :)
