Good afternoon,

Forgive my naivete, but I'm a little curious as to how namejet, afternic, tdnam and such companies work. Is it my understanding that if someone does not renew their domain, it is snatched up by one of the companies and sold at auction, for (sometimes) thousands of dollars?

If so, good for all parties involved, except those who were asleep at the switch when their name(s) expired or, are dead.

Is there any other way to get names into their auctions?

Thanks for any guidance or clarification that might be offered up here. I have about 430 names, including good, bad and ugly and am not quite sure what to do with the good ones.

SnapNames allows you to auction names directly on their platform for a 20% fee. You have to transfer the domain to their registrar before they'll put it in auction though. To list domains go to "My Account" and click on "Seller Dashboards". If you have any questions, check out the FAQs.

You can also auction your domains on TDNAM. With Afternic and Sedo you need an offer to start an auction. As far as I know, you can't put your own domains on NameJet or Pool.
