Good post, good luck to ya
Good domains kinda sell themselves with very minimal promotion. I generally have around 400-500 .coms of my own listed and whether it's parked or just redirected to an inquiry form every single day I get inquiries/offers cause the domains make business sense. This is the optimum position when a buyer knocks on your door first as the desire to own it is already confirmed so price is the only factor left to debate. I have sold $8 expired domains for mid to high x,xxx more than a few times by combining good domains and patience.
It's common sense really...
Does the domain make business sense?
Would I pay for this domain if I was in this business?
Are there tons of easily attainable alternatives making my domain not as desirable?
Who would buy this domain?
etc...
So many spends hundreds/thousands of dollars on junk before selling any domain in the x,xxx range or knowing what a good domain is and spam away which is the equivalent of door to door sales. Not only do you have to make them wanna buy it but you also have to convince them it's worth your price.
Option 1: Buy good domains, kick your feet up and stay busy working on other things, when the "right" buyer comes knocking just a price negotiation. No work and maximum profit.
Option 2: Buy crap. Spam away. Work and minimal profit since you also have to factor in all the hours you spend spamming.
