URL: www.footballstreams.com

Age of site (months): 12

Monthly revenue: $1,450.93 last month

Revenue details:

Proof of revenue is available. It can be shown in the form of 11
Paypal screenshots - inquire about it here or via PM if you're interested, and
I'll PM the URL for the screenshots.

Football season is August to May, so the site is very profitable during most
of the year, except June and July, basically.

You can expect similar numbers on other months (except off season), with
peaks during weekends or other good football days. The owner didn't go
through paypal to calculate other months, but that info would be freely
available to any serious bidders requesting it.

The only expenses for this business are hosting (no need for anything other
than your average shared hosting account, as you're not hosting the actual
media streams), and one paid banner on another football site ( $90 or so for
every 3 months, already prepaid for around 6 weeks).

During September we have experimented with a price of 9.99 GBP (British
Pounds) and found that it does get sales, but apparently the drop in sales
vs. the rise in revenue is more or less similar. We have not tested for a long
time, so you may experience different results (perhaps you should raise the
price only by a couple of pounds).

Monthly pricing of 2.99/month was also tested for a few days, and did
receive sales but not too many.

There aren't a lot of refund requests at all, specific stats will be researched
via paypal upon request.

Monthly page views: Around 5-6,000 pageviews monthly

Traffic details:
Traffic comes mainly from search engines and just one paid banner (it's not
your average banner, different size with a large "Please Support our
sponsor" text above it). The banner costs 70 Euros (A little less than $90 I
believe) for a full 3 months, and is already paid for about the next 5-6
weeks.

Full stats are available here, although keep in mind they have not been
properly installed during the whole period, so stats for the last couple of
months only are available.

Click the link below the banner at the bottom of the site -
http://www.footballstreams.com - and then click "view footballstreams
stats"

Description:

The site sells a lifetime membership to a members area with links to sites
that provide Football streams, as well as other TV streams.

The streams are maintained for you by a person who does it for the benefit
of having his banner placed at the bottom of the site. You may choose to
stop that and pay that person several dollars a month instead.

The site started out as a forum, and was profitable pretty much from day
one. The owner was charging for a yearly membership at first, so you still
get some renewals from old forum members who bought membership for a
year ( you can see the inactive forum here http://www.footballstreams.com/ipb/ ).

You get full rights to the inactive forum as well, including the 3,488
registered members (who made 28,956 posts) and later on converted itself
to a streams members area through a template the owner purchased on
Ebay (this is not the current design).

The current site design is 100% unique and is not a template, the site was
redesigned about 2 weeks ago.

Please feel free to ask for more information if you're a serious bidder. Keep in
mind in any traffic related questions - you have full access to the actual
site stats (not screenshots), so you should be able to work out any traffic
related details :)

The site itself involves VERY little customer support, mostly just generic
questions once in a while. No maintenance necessary, since it's done for
you.

On top of that, I'm giving away http://www.123streams.com which was a
live forum up until about 2 weeks ago, when it was moved to my hosting
and had an error on it that did not enable posting (I didn't notice it until
about a week after that), which made it a lot less active. That forum hasn't
yet been e-mailed or notified about footballstreams.com , I planned on doing
so and splitting the profits with the owner but didn't get a chance to do it.

Price (or starting bid): $11,000

Is an auction?: Yes

Auction end date / time: October 28th, 8 PM EST

Google page rank: 3

Thank you for taking the time to read the auction, please let me know if
there is anything else I can do to help :)

Streams

Hi based on the fact that these streams are openly available for free I will offer $1000 as you have traffic and I could tie it up to my own forum www.premiershiptalk.com

Thanks

I'd recommend you guys to purchase an account before even thinking of making a bid - I just did it out of curiosity. The list of channels is not even hosted on the main domain but seems to be taken off an amateurish page, URL: http://www.internetskytv.info/members/

Here's a screenshot

Also, I think it should be general knowledge that ados67 is merely a broker and does not own the site.

Boguns - yep, I agree :) I wish I had the money to buy a site like this.

LordHaha - bid ignored, please don't waste our time here. It's not just the
traffic that counts here, it's the mere fact that last month alone the site's
net for September was almost 150% of your bid. October's results weren't
really different, so if anyone is seriously interested in those, just let me
know. You're also getting the site with a list of over 3,000 people of which
90% paid in the past for a membership to the forum which involved football
streams. Those people still purchase a lifetime membership from time to
time, just by finding the new site really.

If it was so easy finding each and every link available from the members
area, trust me in saying the current owner wouldn't have that many sales.
While some of that information is freely available, a lot of it isn't easy to
come by - If you'd like I can point out quite a few websites that make quite
a bit of money from selling a bundle of information that, given some good
time spent on searching and such, is available to everyone. What matters is
that it's being sold to you as a package where you won't have to look for
each of the links separately when you do need them.

Tolkein - I'm sure everybody here appreciates your post, I know I would,
except the only problem here is that if you read my post well you would
easily figure out that I'm not the owner, because I keep referring to "the
owner" and "the seller". I actually did have permission to say it was my own,
but I simply can't find the reasoning behind saying that - a site should be
judged for its revenue, traffic and potential, not for its owner or the person
advertising it.

Just to clarify - when I said I was "giving away 123streams.com" - that
really is a site I purchased myself a couple of weeks ago, that one doesn't
belong to the owner of footballstreams, but it is included with the sale so
the new owner can market to the members there and possibly 'revive' the
forum if he's interested.

The fact that the list is currently hosted on a site belonging to the person
who maintains it is just the way it was so far and the owner really didn't see
any point to changing it. To be honest that's one of the first things I told
him to do - and he said the new owner could just tell the person who
maintains the list there for him to maintain it on footballstreams.com's
members area, rather than that site.

When I first saw the site it was actually using an existing Ebay template for
a football streams site. We had hired a designer to change that.

The same could easily be done with the link to the external members area -
It's totally up to you really - I would definitely agree that it would look
better and more professional that way, and that's the first thing I would do
as a new owner myself :) The current owner didn't see much importance in
this, but if that changes anybody's mind from bidding on the site to ignoring
it - well, I can just say that we can stipulate that as a part of the sales
agreement in such a way that you will only get the site after the entire
content had been laid out nicely in its internal members area.

If you're interested in discussing this option further, let me know - it's very
easy for us to do.

Anyone else?

With all due respect, have you "personally" tried the service yourself?

It doesn't actually have a list of football channels rather a list of "general" tv channels lumped together. I randomly picked 5 from the list and NONE of the worked.

Honestly, I'd take LordHaHa's offer in a wink.

I actually did try the service myself during a weekend when there were football games, and a couple of links I tried seemed to work fine. If you can PM me with the links that specifically didn't work, I can look into those - perhaps they only work during actual football matches, but that doesn't sound right and most likely it's an error with the actual links. I'd be interested in the links to look into this further if you're willing to help.

Regarding Lordhaha's offer, I have a funny feeling the owner would prefer keeping the site and making 1.5 times his offer in the next month doing nothing, rather than selling it to him - but that's just my opinion...

I responded to the rest of your points via PM, please refrain from posting on this thread unless you feel you have other contributions to make.

First of all, I made a bid in good faith whatever your reasoning - I stated that you can get these links anywhere on the net (see above) I made this bid purely for the member base to add to my own football forum. I also feel this is rather strange having to explain to the seller even though I am the only bidder!!

My site in question www.premiershiptalk.com

If by all accounts what the seller is saying is true, and I judge it to be by the amount of info he has provided/is willing to provide then this website is a great buy. From my personal experience the majority of football fans arent that internet savvy anyway so it would be easy to account for the amount of profit this site is receiving. Football fans wouldent necessarily be put off by a rubbish design - they visit and pay to find the games on at the moment. They will be satisfied to pay a nominal fee instead of surfing the web for this information themselves, it is marketed correctly and they get what they pay for.

LordHaHa - I'm sorry if it seemed like I was trying to offend you, but please take into consideration that if a site's starting bid is $11,000, you don't offer $1,000 for the site and expect that the seller would just say thank you for your bid. Besides, this is posted on several forums, and you have no access to my private messages here, or on the other 3 forums it is posted on - why on earth would you state that you made the only bid?

FlareSolutions - I hear where you're coming from, and in general tend to agree. Proof of income is available to any serious bidder in the form of 11 screenshots detailing the 11 history pages for September :) Further proof of October's revenue and August's revenue is also available. I think the forum and the 25,000+ posts on it prove that this used to be an active forum, and would also explain why it had less trouble receiving visitors than your average football streams or other such site - it was just pre-established and hence had backlinks (not too many, but still), as well as sites sending traffic to it.

All I can say is that I tried to portray the site as honestly as possible, and am very willing to provide any proof required by anyone who would seriously consider making a bid. I've already opened up the traffic stats to everyone (they're not password protected - feel free to try them). Proof of earnings for that many customers is a little more sensitive, and so I would prefer to only PM it to individuals that are interested, I think that's fair.

Thank you very much for your input :) Please let me know if you have further questions.

Auction ending date is Friday.

The site has made 41 sales (around 245 British Pounds!) between the 18th of October to the 26th of October. It looks like October's revenue is going to be pretty great, if anyone is interested in the exact numbers let me know :)

The site used to be a forum with many active paid memberships before it was transformed into a members area based site, it was doing great then but the new way the site is edited is doing a lot better.

The site has been transformed to a members area based site since mid August of 2005, and sales have been rather steady (with peaks during good football weekends) since.

Proof of revenue is available for the entire period from September of 2004 until today, so if you're serious but you have inquiries or would like to see the stats further - just drop me a PM.

Any way this site could run into teh same problems the video code sites are having?

Im not sure what video streams the football video code sites use but from my interpretation he provides a link to websites that provide a definite video stream of the match. Luckily to my script design I will be easily able to update a new videos database for it.

Hi George,

Good question: Since we are linking to the actual site, and not providing codes for people that are static, this should not be an issue. In other words, it would be like linking to yahoo itself - there is no real reason why all these sites would suddenly change their URLs, as they are given full credit by FootballStreams.com (in other words, you won't see a stream running supposedly off of footballstreams.com when it's actually hosted elsewhere).

That said, out of hundreds of links obviously some are taken down / changed once in a while, but that's why you have someone updating the links for you - if you look at the site, the banner at the bottom relating to domain registration and such is actually not yours, but rather belongs to the preson who updates the streams for you. You can choose to get rid of the banner and pay him a very minor fee instead, so that's not an issue if the banner is an issue as far as you're concerned.

Let me know if you have any further questions!
