Hi,

I'd be interested in your appraisals for Foom.com
It has a PR of 5, was registered in 1999, and has a few backlinks.
(I also got foom.org chucked in for free - which is also a PR5)

Thanks

UPDATE!! - Just sold for $21,000

I would say with the right exposure 5k very few names of that caliber that are short and memorable left, if you can wait for the right enduser maybe a lot higher
good luck

easily $1,000

possibly $2,000 - $3,000 at decent venues.

In a year I see this one at high 4 figures.

I would guess somewhere around $300-$600

Good Luck.

This is a top-notch brandable and has been used in conjunction with many things, including comics and music. A great CVVC with nice letters and the fantastic 'oo' in the middle. Any reseller would give you 500 - 1K in a heartbeat, but you should realize an absolute minimum of 3K for this name on a slow day, 5 - 8K when all the stars are aligning. More if you get the ideal motivated bidders. Nice one.
I used to work for Marvel Comics as a writer/artist, and remember back to when (before my time) they used this as the name of their fanzine (it stood for 'Friends Of Ol' Marvel'), it was well-liked and I think has been revamped in a spotty way over the years :)

Good luck, love the name. Keep it another year or two and the price will go up considerably.

FOOM was Marvel Comics' self-produced fan magazine of the mid-1970s,
following the canceled Marvelmania and preceding Marvel Age.
Running 22 quarterly issues (Feb. 1973 - Fall 1978), it was initially designed and
edited by celebrated comic book writer-artist Jim Steranko.

The name is unrelated to either the computer software acronym FOOM (Functional and Object-Oriented Methodology),
or Festival of Original Music Song Competition (FOOM).

Would this info modify any appraisals?
Just curious.

Guys, thanks for the feedback.
I've got a few ideas for developing this one over the next few months so i won't be selling it any time soon. Just wanted to see if i got a bargain.

Thanks

how much did you paid ? :)

I'd say this is worth at least $4k.

Foom is only 1 syllable, which makes it more valuable than the other LLLL with 2 syllables.

One thing I love about this name is the double O. To me, O is the best letter in a CVCV or a brandable name such as this. Makes for terrific logos...
