Flipping A Drop Domain...How Long Till You Sell?

Here is my question and this is mainly toward the "professional" domainers but would like to hear from all....

Lets say today the domain "*&^%$.com" dropped and you picked it up for reg reg fee. You feel the name is somewhat generic or it had some backlinks or what ever. Do you turn around and try to sell it the same day OR do you wait a while before listing it?

Most newbies see a domain that has JUST been reg and feel the name is NEW when it could be 10 years old but just happen to not be renewd.

Same point for names at Snap, Pool etc. Say you just bought it for $60 and then the next day you list it.....Now there may have been some watchers to that name and know you paid $60 so do you think you can still sell for $XXX the next day?

You can definitely flip. I reg'd a domain last year and had offers within 2 weeks for mid xxx (It was a drop I picked up). Rejected though. The domain made back it's cost in PPC in the first week.

It all depends.

Somedays I want more cash flowing then others. So I will do some flipping. I consider flipping (7 days).

Sometimes I will go for weeks, in the "Hold Mode" no matter what offers I get.

My quickest (flips) are not just because somebody contacts me. I have a growing list of almost 800 domain buyers, so it can be pretty easy to sell when I need to. With in Minutes sometimes and manytimes I get pretty good prices for them.

My quickest flip was with in hours of hand registering a domain, and selling for $750. It's in the Sold Thread if you can find it. It's a 3 word domain (but a nice one).

Nice Yofie......Im just wondering if "domainers" would care if just regged and pay $XXX or more OR they want to see age rather then the name itself.
