Flippa used to be a great place to sell domaisn especially tech related ones.

I have sold domains in 4 figures range for good profit and also a 5-figure domain to an enduser (big entreprenaur) . But now seriously, go check out the Editor Choice domains. Is surely becoming a mess.

Why would domains as such get EC:

BartendNYC.com
beachfronttowns.com
INCHtoCM.com

Just to name a few..

You need to be friends with management to get EC. That's it.

imo

I've been baffled with their EC choices as well..

I even contacted some of the support folks there to get some of my domains reviewed for EC and even though most of the ones I submitted were better than the EC's at the time I was turned down...

Ive said the same thing multiple times. Its gotten to the point where Flippa is an in joke in the industry. When a domain is really bad, Ive started sayong its as good as editors choice.

Not only is their Editor's Choice bad, their customer service is non-existent as well. Flippa really don't deserve the fees they charge, which is extremely high for their bad customer service.

Looks like Escrow.com is no longer an option:

"As part of improving the safety of transactions and reducing the transfer fees associated with Escrow on Flippa, we have decided to remove Escrow.com as an available payment option."

I paid a big fee to list stamp.org - sold for a price I could live with and then they suspended the guy so now he cant pay me? Wont tell me why. They let me relist but now the name is tainted and doesn't sell.

It was accepted to the next Great Domains auction on Sedo - lets see how that works

yes they used to only accept single word domains or other premium ones for EC but not it's the other way around. Premium domains won't get much exposure anymore due to all the crap domains.

same nonsense that sank their marketplace. why give preferential treatments? I thought they were there for business? sick!

I don't mind flippa

I only pay the basic $9 listing fee and the $4 resisting fee

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't bought out at some point

Business must be way down as Flippa support has confirmed to me they now charge $15 a month to list a domain for sale. How can anyone justify paying $15 each and every month with stats indicating on average there's an approx' 1% chance of a sale per year!

In addition, sales of developed sites on Flippa must also be down what with the big declines in affiliate income and huge Adsense revenue drop with so many sites going from several dollars a day to a few pennies a day making Adsense of little or no value on a sale listing.

Even mentioning Adsense can be a big negative when buyers wonder why you are asking so much for a site earning pennies a day in verified income.

Plus there's fairly obvious obvious fraud on Flippa on traffic stats mostly from bots and other data falsified by some sellers including manipulated or almost impossible to maintain product sales volume and revenue.

That is the exact reason. That is why flippq will be dead soon.
Staff doesn't even bother to respond. I tried reaching up the Editor's but no one responded.

Oh my goodness. Are you kidding me ? Paypal is still there, but not Escrow.com ?
The only reviews of Flippa Escrow are less than glowing.
What I want to know is can a seller on Flippa still offer Escrow.com privately.
I am looking everywhere on Flippa for an FAQ/Rules , but coming up empty.
Anyone have the link, please share it.
And it is so rich to state they removed Escrow.com for "safety of transactions".
Uh Paypal is considered risky, NOT Escrow.com
Escrow.com JUST won the Better Business Bureau’s most prestigious award, the Torch Award for Ethics for Silicon Valley and San Francisco!
Escrow won in the largest company category (50+ staff).

I am just in shock over this move. Wow, just wow.

Here's the copy of the email for those who didn't get it. I had one domain in draft status:

As part of improving the safety of transactions and reducing the transfer fees associated with Escrow on Flippa, we have decided to remove Escrow.com as an available payment option.

So what does this mean for your draft listing?

All you have to do is to get into your draft listing and update the payment methods to the following options:

  1. Flippa Escrow (Recommended) - Flippa Escrow is an accredited Escrow provider powered by Assembly Payments.
  2. PayPal (Max transaction of $10,000) - PayPal does not accept any payments over $10,000. We do recommend that you increase the safety of your transaction by using Flippa Escrow.
Does it impact any of your live listings?

No, if your listing is live and if you have opted in for escrow.com, you can continue with your transaction.

I've only been involved with domains for a month, and actually stayed away from Flippa for some reason. That is until yesterday where I put up a couple of domains there; after reading this thread I kind of regret it. I will see what becomes of the listings though :/

It can't hurt to try as long as it isn't costing you anything.
