Ok... I have done many things, but never has a site been as slow. I have lowered the prices for the sellers as low as I possibly can.

I have started a Flippa type website (Website Auction Site)and I haven't got the first website listed on there.

Is anyone willing to help run/sell/buy on it? I really have never done a site like this and need help taking off.

Here is a List of the fees associated with my site (What I charge sellers)

Instant Pay Gigs.com Fees

Commission from buyer: 0%
Commission from seller: 3%

Fees for Categories:

Advertising for sale: $2
Domain Names: $1
Established Sites: $6
Premium Websites: $15
Services: $5
Startup Sites: $7
Templates: $3

Listing Upgrades:

Featured on Front Page: $10
Screenshot on Auction: FREE
Listing Highlited: $1
Listing Title Bold: $1
Hide from search engines and non members: $1

Are these fees reasonable?

PM Me if willing to help.

Flippa didn't get started on its own. It was base on "sitepoint.com". Basically they migrated to the new site, from a pool of thousands of subscribers (I was one of them).

Then they began to massively advertise on forums etc.,

You need 3 strong points.

1) Massive User Base Flippa does this through Site Point
2) Years of Trust/Operations Site Point again
3) Money to market through alot of forums and Search Engines (news press)

Without 1, or 2. Its hard for you to even compete.

Think of it this way, $1, $2 to mark something, yet there's no one on it!
Who's going to pay.

Its going to be expensive to market IT stuff.
You will need to buy a forum that has traffic and start marketing from that pool of users, and then expand.

Like everyone, there is no trust in anything that is new!
So they would be hesitant to even list it for free!!!!!

--------------
A while ago, I was doing an auction script via its dut (asia) below my signature. It works well, because I had support. But it took too long and resources weren't enough to continue.

A stand alone project is hard bring to market. So you will need partnership, buyout of traffics (from sites).

--------
-buy sites with traffic (for user base)
-earn trust (don't even price it)
-will take a while to grow (don't give up)

You need at least 2 to 3 sites on IT to do this.
Because marketing in Search Engines alone will not do it. Its like paying people to see your products. Think of Bido!

Maybe one day they will be successful!

If you want to partner or something, pm me.

Hi stephanj,

Have you considered giving the service away for free initially. I.E. let people sell / list their sites for free on your site until you can gain some traction in the marketplace and build a user base? What are you currently doing to generate new traffic / viewers for the site. Also listen to tech4 he made some great points as well.
