Hello, my name is Anes.

Was interested in domain flipping since 2024 but never took the action because I got stuck in the tutorial hell and got too deep in information without actually buying any domains.
Bought my first domains in May 2026 though.

I would like to ask some advice.
Is domain flipping still feasible for a beginner in 2026, let's say with a budget of around $300?

My biggest fear is not selling any of my domains by the end of the year, before renewals.

Any advices?

Thank you

Welcome Anes,

Yes it is but it is harder now.

My advice is: stick to .com as a beginner.

Look around the forum, tons to learn.

Treat it as a hobby and learn as it grows.
Maybe as part of that budget get some server space somewhere where you can park your domains and make your own individual landing pages...generally much more appealing then the bog standard landing pages Sedo etc offers. Promote in the right places
I used to do it 20 years ago and made a really nice turnover - but today is not so easy...takes work (and I'm finding that kind of fun at the moment)

Welcome Anes,

No business is easy! nothing in life comes simple.

In my opinion, I would advise against hand-reg domains if you’re hoping to sell within the same year. Instead, consider using your $300 to invest in a 4-letter domain; you’re more likely to see results before the next renewal ends compared to hand-registered names.

Good luck!

Welcome aboard Anes! The good news is I believe it’s still possible to succeed as a beginner. But it’s very easy to make mistakes

Just to set realistic expectations, I think it’s very ambitious to expect your domain(s) to sell in year one. A strong portfolio might sell 1% -2% of the domains per year. So not impossible, but likely they won’t sell.

To improve your odds, not sure if you spent budget already, but if not, invest it QUALITY. As mentioned above, you can invest in liquid LLLL domains. Read about desired letters/patterns/pronounceables. If you need the money, you can usually get most of your money back.

Alternatively look for names with multiple potential end users that could improve their current domain. But be careful not to register trademark names. I’d recommend only .com for beginners

If you haven’t purchased your names yet, I’d recommend buying just one. The best name you can afford. 1 quality domain >>>>> 1,000 bad ones. And you’ll only have to pay for one renewal.

Sorry a lot of advice here, but one of the key deciding factors if you really want to sell is outbound (email/call) rather than passively waiting for your names to sell. If you can reach out to potential end users, it can improve your odds. Admittedly not my best skill, but if you hustle and you have quality names, it will improve your odds of success.

Best of luck!

Thank you King.
So the best way to learn is probably the forum?

But wouldn't a 4-letter domain cost a lot? since there are limited number of those ofc.

Really appreciate your long reply.

since 2 people recommeded LLLL domains i will look into those.

i like your suggestion of "buying just one domain you can afford" , it seemed counter-intuitive to me at first. But when you think about it, its very interesting. i will keep this in mind.

Yes, the outbound / outreach skill is one of the most important. even in programming , freelancing, or marketing. and its the same, its not my thing. are there any resources to improve the outreach skill ?

The best spot to snag affordable 4l is right here at Namepros. Make sure to check out how the auction operates, along with the terms and conditions, so you avoid getting your account banned.
Good luck!
