Fireworks menu causing 1 pixel white space

i am new to using fireworks and i have exported a nav menu into dreamweaver and it seems to have created a one pixel space between it and the image above it. since it leaves the white gap with or without a table row between the two objects i figured it might be a fireworks problem. also when i insert the fireworks object, a javascript symbol is placed above the menu, creating a gap between the two objects, however i move this to the bottom of the page and the gap seems to seal up again in DW's design view (but not in the browser)

i know this seems like a really silly thing to get worked up over but the white line really stands out and i'm sure my client is going to notice it.

1) did you rememr to trim the canvas on your image?
2)look in your html and make sure any unneccessary white space is removed, i often find that when images will not line up, that there is a white space somewhere between them.
3)why are you using fireworks to creat nav menus? its a great tool for edit images and compreesiong them but photoshop would be much much better and Flash hase several templates easily modifiable to make nav menus, also dreamweaver can make them itself with you just inserting images.

thanks for the tips aryden, i already did the first two things with no luck, so i went and did it in flash like you suggested which now looks fine. i don't know what i was thinking using fireworks..i just figured it might be easier.

i tried the same thing a while back and realized that fireworks is one of the best for compressin of images but not for very much else.

the best way to determine where the 1px game is coming from is open the page up in ie. and select the nav if the 1px blue turns blue its in the image if not look else where do you have a demo online? would be easier to fix
