Hello. We're looking for a high-end broker to help arrange one or possibly 2 domain transactions. One is at the $20-30K level, and another one is at $400K+ (actual website). The broker should be well connected in the for-profit education, scientific, and/or publishing industry.

How/where can we find such a person/organization (No generic auctions, such as Sedo, Afternic, eBay, etc.)? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
P.S. If you're one of them, please PM us.

Finding a broker is good but I wouldn't rule out Sedo if it's a great generic domain. I mean just look at DNJournal & you'll see they have quite a rep for high end deals.
You might want to contact them directly.
You might also spur more interest in those high end dealers by giving stats. Is it a generic domain, is the price based on name, is it based on content etc.

but basically follow were you see sales equivalent to what you are selling.

What's wrong with using Sedo or Afternic for a high dollar transaction? I'm sure they will become your best friend if it is in the xxx,xxx range and goes through. Sorry to ask a question in addition to yours but I'm curious.

The Problem is that they rarely go out and hunt specific buyers in a specific niche for a specific domain that isn't tailored to their current hot list of traffic buyers. Not EVERY domain is a Traffic Domain or can be valued in terms of its traffic or PPC revenue. PLIARS, for instance, isn't a highly searched or visited keyword for PPC but to a Manufacturer of Pliars or to a Tool Company, its value may be way beyond that of the PPC or Traffic Revenue.

These large Traffic Brokers (I don't like to use the term Domain Brokers) like Sedo, Moniker, etc. rely heavily upon their reputations to bring potential buyers to them and are far too burried under literally millions of domains to go out and promote a single branding opportunity.

This is why this buyer needs a Broker. To put together one seller with one buyer in a specific niche that may not be solely and completely traffic driven.

Branding or Branded words are nothing (or were nothing) before a company decided to get behind it financially. "Google" for instance, meant absolutely nothing until it was branded. "AskDrZ" was nothing until Dodge dumped a bunch of cash behind it. Perhaps the poster has a related but not yet branded name specific to his industry that a company is just dieing to buy and promote, but would seem worthless to a traffic buyer.

I think there NEEDS to be more Brokers like this, IMHO. We'd start seeing some better sales I think. At least more movement. Buyers and Sellers are many times Ships in the Mist... passing by silently, unoticed, because they are both waiting for someone else to call out.

GoPC - thank you for your comments. Often, the best buyer is not actively looking for a domain (and certainly not on Sedo or Afternic). I don't think too many Forture 500 corporations, which have resources to pay $xxx, xxx+ for a domain name, ever visit Sedos of the world.
