I have a series of domains id like too develop, but i cant see me ever having the time to do them "properly"for quite a while. Considering new sites are getting sandboxed by google atm anyway..is it worth just putting a "website presence" up for a few months until google lets your site out of the box?

Whats the fastest method of developing sites, not adsense filled spammy pages, or doorway pages, but proper sites with decent looking templates.

I found sitepoint, here at http://www.moonfruit.com/. That seems like a very easy to use setup system. Unfortunately it requires a monthly fee which im not too keen on.

Perhaps i could just use some of the scripts at hotscripts etc. to throw up some basic sites. The trick is i dont want to spend a lot of money on hosting, or maintaining a site until im ready to come around and redo the site properly, systematically going from one site to the next..

Im pretty familiar with Mambo and in fact im getting a site done custom atm. I had planned on using this site as a foundation for a network of sites...essentially copying the code and ideas from this first one...perfecting this first site, and duplicating its success throughout a network.

Any help is very much appreciated, any links, worthwhile software etc..

In conclusion i need a solution that is:

- easy to setup
- easy to maintain
- doesnt produce spammy pages...i will provide the content
- costs little to maintain on a monthly basis

Why would you need to pay someone to maintain a basic web page?

You can just put up a banner/logo, and huge picture in the center (or a Flash animation). Some quick text that's Google friendly describing the site/page. Add some links and such. Would take but a couple hours to do, and won't look spammy.

Then you'd have a template for the rest of your sites (just change the logo, center image and descriptive text -- the x/html can be copied from site to site, but don't make the mistake of copying everything, that IS spammy).

Thx Chris i think your right, just make it pretty basic, just to get started.

This new site im working on should be a killer when its done...im really looking forward too completely it. It will essentially be my first proper website designed to be fully commercial and provide a genuinely useful service to companies.

Like my sig states: You can't stop, what you haven't started. ;)

If something hasn't been started, there's nothing to stop.

So design *something* so the whole process can get going. It can always be improved later -- it can't be improved if nothing is created. ;)

Looking forward in seeing the site when you're done. Always nice to see what folks can create, and the thought that went into them (every project has a story).
