Just because it says PayPal.us in the email location doesn't mean that the owner sent it.

In PHP mail(); you can send an email and mask who is sending it (I've had some fun with this before, sending myself emails from [email protected]).

More likely, the criminal is the guy who owns the underlying link.

I get these quite often, I've had paypal shut down about 12 of these. I backtracked the last one to India, the one before to the ukraine. Just forward any of these to spoofatpaypal.com and they will shut them down. paypal has a secure id keychain device that you can get through their site for five dollars u.s. once you set this up with your account, by entering the code on the back, you can never be hacked, because this device gives you a number that changes every thirty seconds. you put this number after your password. even if you mess up and enter your password and number on one of these phishing sites, by the time they recieve it, it's been changed. great idea. on paypals site, go to their security page to read about it. it's pretty much foolproof.

I have also never gotten one of those, the only thing I have gotten was spam emails saying I won the British Lottery or the Ireland Lottery or huge amount of money from somewhere. Often from a foreign place I have never been to. I am from America too so most of them don't make sense.

PS I knew it was a scam because the spelling was wrong on a few words. The A--holes should do spellcheck before trying to scam the world.

Ya there is no way it was from that actually email because if he owned that domain he would have made the link paypal.us...... because that would be a lot harder to catch.
