I'm comfortable writing on a scholarly level or a level more directed at a general audience, as the difference is important depending on who you plan on targetting.
Turnaround time depends on the size and scope of the project, but is typically within 24-48 hours. I can write content on a large scale for a mega site, or I can simply write a small article for a minisite or to complement something already in place. Larger projects (10+ pages/ 5000+ words) will be estimated on an individual basis, but will be given a reduction from the normal rate.
