Expand The Private Messages Limit

I'm nearing the limit on my private messages & thought, it'd be great if I can have more space for my private messages.

It's really tedious to go through and deleted the ones I don't need (because I would like to keep them all).

I think it would be great if the private message limit was upped to double what it is now.

Kinda like Google (Gmail) is always expanding their space, it'd be nice if Namepros did the same.

Just a suggestion!

i wouldn't mind a larger limit either (although i don't need one yet), but it might take a strain if it were to increase for the thousands of accounts here. just a tip: you can download/export the messages and save them locally.

I agree. But, as shockie pointed-out, it is easier said than done ;) I'm sure -RJ- is willing to take donations to pay for the extra servers and/or hard drives:tu:

One thing I don't like about the PM's is that it doesn't vB code stuff...
http://www.domain.com

Comes out like:

Edit: (well I can't get it to show here like it does in PM's)

And such...

Or am I just doing something wrong?

You are talking about where:

http://www.domain.com

shows as

http://www.domain.com

That vB coding was removed from PM's because of too many phishing (fake) url's being spammed in PM's. The change was only made to PM's, and not message-boards, hence why it shows as a link on boards but as code in PM's.

How did I get the vB code to work here? Instead of entering "", I entered "&# 91;url" (remove th...an together (no spaces) produces the "[" :tu:

You have 6788 messages stored, of a total 65535 allowed.

Haven't hit my limit yet. ;)

Just delete your messages. You don't need PMs from three years ago.

I've got no problem with the limits...

You have 3169 messages stored, of a total 10000 allowed.

65,535 is kind of a weird number to set as a limit...

I too have PM's I could not reveal publicly :hehe:

I only have a limit of 2,500 total PM's.

Out of which, I have 2,203 sitting in there.

I wish I had limits the size you guys do! Hence why I posted this thread.

Or what about being able to BUY more space with NP$...;) Free is always good though. :D

Come to think of it, I've deleted quite a bit...

I've tried to delete some of my old messages, but I just have so many drop catching tips from elite members that I end up keeping all my PM's.

It's always nice to cross-reference, search by keywords or member & view old PM's.

If I export my PM's, you can guarantee it's something I'll never look at again. Plus, since I spend so much time around here, I enjoy logging in to get the "new PM" pop-up.
