Exciting news! Dynadot has partnered with Donuts to auction registry reserved platinum names starting October 1. You don't want to miss out on our exclusive event. This is a great opportunity to add super premium domain names to your portfolio with a low starting price.

How does it work?

The registry reserved platinum auctions will function similar to our regular auctions. In order to bid, you'll need an order history with one successful payment of $5 or more in the last 365 days. Most users create a prepay to add credit to their account and then use that credit towards any future orders placed. If you already have at least $5 in spending, you're ready to bid once the auctions are live.

The platinum auctions will use proxy bidding and will last for 10 days. In total, 25 registry reserved platinum names will be available in auction. Below is a list of platinum auction names and their corresponding start dates:

October 1
top.network, politics.live, cable.network, dating.live, it.digital

October 2
app.live, eth.digital, wireless.network, our.network, cryptocurrency.live

October 3
gaming.network, dental.network, christian.network, gaming.live, at.network

October 4
trade.live, french.network, nyc.network, digital.live, 420.digital

October 5
weed.live, euro.network, support.live, rv.live, backup.network

View our Premium Auctions page in our Aftermarket to add the domains to your Watchlist! More information can be found in our blog.

FYI so you don't have to search for renewal fees like I had to.. It is on dynadot's blog:

You may be wondering, "this sounds great, but what are the renewal fees?" All of the above premium names renew at the standard cost. That's right, no extra renewal fees to worry about in the future.

This should gather some interest. Since they are the platinum level, as opposed to premium level, and with as @lotk points out, standard renewals, the situation is in some ways more clear than a name with a premium renewal that might change.

Congrats on this innovation @Dynadot and Donuts. And thanks for letting NamePros know about it.

It's interesting because xyz also have premiums (purchase fee) with standard renewals of $9-15.. Maybe registries are changing course on premium renewals? That would be good news for investors & ultimately end users.

Although not new, for some years Donuts have had their platinum names renew at standard rates, while their less strong premium names carry (as far as I know, at least used to) premium rates each year. They did re-designate many premium to standard. though, some months ago.

But I totally agree with your view, if all new extension registries moved to standard renewals, would make life so much simpler and clearer. A few recent did go with that (.icu have standard renewal on even premium names, for example).

Worth pointing out that these aren't no reserve autions which pretty much undermines the whole point of the event.

Whilst the auctions do have a reserve price, these domain names do have a lower reserve than that which they would typically be priced at. Our 0% interest payment plan is also available for these auctions, and the cost of the domains can be spread for up to 12 months.

Did any of these manage to sell yet? Doesn't appear to be much interest.
