These type of things never work, and plus, it brings in untargetted traffic.

I agree..

I agree with cpvr, I have never had untargetted traffic work for my sites or anyone that I know. It seems to just eat up bandwith.

It really seems to only work in very unique situations, where somehow a free item is given away or something that sounds too good to be true off the bat to lure people into something else, etc...

Just my opinion.
