It was not rare to see Italia played HORRIBLY in Group stage or qualification.

It was not rare to see Spain played very well in Qualification and Group stage.

In soccer, once the ball has not been kicked, every thing could happen. Another patency: History is hard to be broken (For example, It took 30 years for Holland to beat Italia even Holland played supper-well in late 1980)

It is well-known that Italia has strong potential in Knock-out stage, and Spain doen't.

Today we will know the name of the first finalist: Germany or Portugal. They will beat whoever comes in semifinals.

And I am so upset Italy finally got classified. Italy and Germany are the only two teams that do not need to play well at all to be in finals or even win championships. Plus the italians are great in what we call "the other football", meaning they know how to push your buttons and such.

I'd prefer Spain to have faced Romania but, who knows, some day we will have to get over our "Quarter Finals Curse". :P

That is why I bet on Italy. Though Spain plays great and has great players too.

But they are always the team that starts with a lot of chances to win, just that in the end a boring, defensive team to win a competition.

And yes, as good players as Spain always had, they did not win a major competition. (yet)

That was inmediately before Tasotti, an italian defender broke the nose of one of our players inside the penalty area... none of the referees saw it.

Well, I think this year for Spain it is different

Italy hasn't played this horrible in ages, I've in my lifetime never seen them play multiple matches that bad in a row.

And as for Spain, I think they are quite a bit better than 4 or 8 years ago.

In 1994, The world cup has been held in USA. In group stage, the Italia did not win the group and did not win runner up either. They got the 3rd, and went to 1/16 round by the LAST TICKET.
And then, Italia played against Spain in the 1/8 round

In the match with Spain, Enrique got a broken nose, after the match, Tasotti got 8 matche-penalty. But he did only 2, he need to do 6 more :D but he can't

Italy is ALLWAYS a dangerous team to play against no matter what. The same applies to Germany. These two teams deserve all the respect from the others.

In this Euro the expectations are high for Holland and Spain who are both playing fantastic football. Sometimes a bad decision by a ref can change the story of a game.

One thing's for sure, we will have surprises, and surprises allways come from the suposedly weaker teams!

Not sure if could be possible but I would love to see both teams from the Iberian peninsula to get to the finals: Portugal vs Spain.

Well it's the end of the story for Portugal. We played more but the Germans are more efficient in scoring even though their 3rd goal was illegal as we can clearly see from the replays, that Ballack pushed the defender to score the goal. If that goal was disallowed who knows what could have happened.

Now for tomorrow's game: CROATIA-TURKEY Could we see another "Turkish Delight"?
